Is the 3DS dead, or what?

I noticed Best buy is soon to be giving a $50 gift card with a 3DS purchase (making it essentially $119).

That dirt cheap price kinda tempts me, but looking at Amazon there's barely any upcoming games at all for it. What's the deal? Is it dead?

I have been thinking about maybe getting a PSP, but I want it for like $50 LOL. The 3DS being so new, yet dropping to $119 seems like a pretty nice deal, but I guess it could be a sign of desparation to sell them. I guess I should wait and see what happens.

1. There are gift card deals for all consoles at all times at all retailers. You can get a PS3 or 360 with $25-$100 cards on a weekly basis

2. It is the best selling console in the world right now(or its up there). About 500k in Japan in November, its moving about 1.2 million + units and has already out sold the DS in its first year in about 8 months.

Super Mario 3D Land just came out, Mario Kart 7 comes out in two days and you've got Metal Gear, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion and Resident Evil Revelations coming out.

Not to mention that there's Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead or Alive Dimensions and Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D out on the System now.

Or buy a PSP....it have more and better games than 3DS.

There is a rumor,and probably is true,that a new 3ds model with 2nd analog stick it will come next year.It is better to wait for the new model.

Dude, this is common for even the most succsessful platforms. It's nothing special to offer the gift cards.

The 360 is the best selling home console in North America and it was $99 to $149 on Black Friday, and can be had with free $25-$100 cards all the time
