Is the ps3 becoming the system to own right now

I've tried to be nice about the PS3 sales in Japan thus far but for having Street Fighter 4, Yakuza 3, and Resident Evil 5 launch in the realm of a month and a half, those sales are terrible. Not even adequate but just terrible. Are you claiming ownage over the 360 selling poorly in Japan? That's just sad grasping honestly.

P.S: its been proven as well that VGchartz isn't like off by multimillions they are usually only off and in error that is fixed within a day or 2 by a thousand to multi thosand units, AS for that untill you can provide a consistantly updated place like VGChartz instead of the monthly NPD research which doesn't account for something like 50% of the stores in the US...yeah saying VGchartz *face palm* means diddly since its what we got and its pretty accurate for what it is.

maybe for the most part. (uncharted 2 and God of war 3 coming soon) But im just curious on why ms isnt sharing any upcoming games. Its not like them to keep things quiet. If things keep going like this then ps3 will defenitly be the console to own. If ms doesnt reveal anything at E3 then they're screwed....

Just like Halo is a generic FPS with a rip off of Unreal Tournament gameplay? See, I can make quality games look bad too! I wouldn't say that it's the system to own, but it's gotten to the point where if you don't have one, you're missing out on a lot of good games.

if you aren't into shooters (the real point to playing online imo) then ps3 has a more diverse library....better action games (ps3 gets ninja gaiden) best baseball game...free online for your sports game...better controller for fighting games...plus the genre's you put seems like you should be a ps2 player

though i don't get what being an old school gamer has to do with liking or not liking shooters....most of the games now don't have an old school feel....and they did have doom and wolfenstein back in the day

I agree. Why would microsoft be keeping it quiet, because people are buying ps3's now because there is nothing coming out lol. Why would tehy do that? For me if im looking at both systems righ tnow im going to get a ps3.... So is ms scrambling and is liek oh **** we dont have any more games. I wouldnt be surprised if its mass effect 2 and alan wake we see at e3 a lot of. The new halo expansion.. Final Fantasy and there might be a surprsie there, but i honestly dont know why they would keep this stuff under wraps. It's costing them sales right now. I honestly dont think they have much right now. This halo recon thing seems like something they threw together imo to keep people interested. I h onestly dont think its going to be that good and will probably be a letdown..... Alan Wake as well they have been holding off just to keep peoples interest. The 360 is maxed out imo and these games we are seeing comingare games that were in development and arent going to be any better than anything thats already been released.

Well minus the side argument here lol, I have played all the major exclusives for the 360... I'm not someone who goes back and plays games over. I figure games like Uncharted 2, The Show and the games i've missed so far on the ps3 will make it worth it. My only concern is i hope the trend doesnt continue where multiplats are better on the 360. But it seems to me like all the major games ahve already been released for the 360 and its a dead system if i've already played them to me. yeah alan wake and mass effect 2 look cool, but i can play those on the pc if i really want to. mass effect 2 might even go to the ps3..... the halo odst gmae i could care less about... what else is there? im looking at the games coming for the 360 adn there is nothing i want. everything is a multiplat or on the ps3.

Eh, its all about money for ms. They spend time investing on DLC and expansions, plus losing much needed exclusives to pc and ps3. Alan wake is vapourware. I wouldnt be surprised if it was delayed till 2010. If sony waved a dollar bill infront of ms, they'll hand over gears and halo3. Since the economy is doing bad, ms is focusing on money and forking out horrible exclusives (ninja blade??) While i'm hoping for some announcements at e3, i know i'l be let down. Hope is a fragile thing :(

Eh, ID RETHINK THAT POST. The AAA and AA (and somehow(doubt it)) AAAA games on the PS3 will be rising quite a noticable sum on the PS3.

But currently the 360 has about 28 more AA games than the PS3 (the ps3 has 61).

i had a 360 for the last 3 years. I'm mainly just a gamer and was perfectly happy with it for hte most part. I like the controller and the exclusives but at the same time there hasnt been anything come out for it exclusively i really wanted to play recently. I really wanted a few games that came out for the ps3. I sold my 360 and got a ps3. 2 consoles imo is a bit much for me and i like to just have one to mess with and my pc. Been going back and forth though. I spent more money doing this and not sure if it was worth it.

had my PS3 for nearly 2 yrs now and my 360 for about 10 months, enjoy gaming on both but if i was a gamer who's getting 1 console only i'd choose the PS3.. but as always that just depends on personal taste.

I had both the 360 and PS3 but recently got rid of my 360 since I barely have had any time for any system. Now I just have my PS3, PS2, and DS.

360 is not dying anytime soon but I strongly feel the tide is turning towards PS3.

If the majority of the games you play are shooters, then yes.

For me, the PS3 is still not worth it. Really the price still does not justify the amount of games that I can purchase. Its classic library doesn't really appeal to me and the new games are still $60. I don't have any money right now so price is really an issue for me.

In your opinion I guess. I own both the 360 and PS3, and I still love my 360 more. I bought my PS3 for MGS4, but I was quite dissappointed in it.

Lemmings like to form opinions of games that they've never played solely based on what they see or hear on SW......pretty sad. The only thing in common the classes share are names, they play quite differently.

Good choice. I think the best games on Xbox 360 are multiplats. I don't really notice the difference in quality between the multiplats on PS3 and Xbox 360... and if you do... well... you kinda need to get a life because the differences are so small.

But where I DID notice the difference is in the exclusives on the PS3. They just seem better and more polished. I've had way more fun with KZ2, R2 Coop, LBP, Valkyria Chronicles, and MGS4 than anything on the Xbox 360 in the last year... and I just stopped my subscription to Live and repurchased COD4 for my PS3. I have no regrets at all... free online for the rest of my gaming life. I guess if you don't have a PC to enjoy L4D and the upcoming Mass Effect game... then keep your 360... but I would honestly sell it. Two systems is way too much... I have both... but I'm thinking of selling the 360 soon... waiting for E3 though.

Actually if your refering to the Tagline COMBAT evolved i don't believe i used any there up there COMBAT evolved, but as for that most people don't ever call the game HALO combat evolved they just call it halo, And that doesn't change the fact that halo 1 and 2 evolved and invovated the Console FPS halo 3 evolved it but did not bring much of any thing new to the table beyond forge.

And because you haven't, that makes the system not worht buying? It's your fault you don't play any of the other great games the PS3 has. ;)
