spec wise afaik its pretty underpowered.
Most touchscreen phones are fine for gamin in the short bursts of mobile gaming and do fine.Im currently playing civilization revolution on my Lumia 800 without any problems and works well and im playing ff1 aswell and had no problems with the touch screen either.
go for a decent powered android/wp phone it'll do way better although iOS has the advantage of wider library although droids doing well and WP is playing catchup but still a capable platform and metro woks well with phones considering i just upgraded 2 days ago.
Trust me, you're going to want to get an iOS/S2 or S3. Only a select number of Android games work with Xperia's physical controls. It's also a lot less powerful and sports a pretty low screen resolution. For around the same price, you should be able to get an S3 with a contract. So yeah, if I were you I'd pass on the Xperia play and go for an iPhone/Android S2 or S3.
I'm sorry has it ever been the best phone for gaming??DuckyindianaYes--it has the best library of games I'm told. I'm just curious about the negatives, like battery life, screen/sound quality, phone functions, and if the games run at a decent clip. If anybody owns one and would like to comment it would be very much appreciated.

I'm looking around and seeing two versions of the phone? One of them lists a 3.5mm audio jack--that's standard. Are you saying headphones won't work with it? That'd be a killer for me.[QUOTE="Heirren"][QUOTE="Duckyindiana"]I'm sorry has it ever been the best phone for gaming??gangstafc

It can be hacked easily to play any pax ISP but its under powered and only has 25 so games that work great, then most do not. Another chunk have glitches. And bugs the other chunk has no sound during cutscenes and the rest don't work or unplayable because the xp only has 2 shoulders. Only 13% of the emulated games look fine while all the others look worse.
