The Wii is what it always has been, a Gamecube with a new controller. The Wii has the Virtual Console, a couple first party games, and a whole lot of rehashes. The Wii did not become a joke, it always was a joke. Nintendo just cant keep up with other systems so they went with a cheap solution. This was the only way for Nintendo to survive. With the sales numbers the way they are, Nintendo may just be able to compete in the next-generation against the PS4 and the Xbox720. The Wii may be a joke, but Nintendo is laughing the whole way to the bank.

LOL So true. Be careful though the Wii fans have a tendency to go to the mods and get you banned. I got banned for saying that the Wii was too slow to run proper ports. Just a warning, but nice one.

I wouldn't be prone to calling it a joke if it outsells its competition. Yeah, I'm not the first to bring up the sales argument, but they generally reflect public opinion, which is the subject of this thread. So if the Wii is a joke, what does that make the other consoles?

That stuff was dead in the early 90s. Please nintendo get some new IPs...really.
