Is the Wii worse than the GCN was?

I did a little bit of research on GameRankings and the Gamecube had 105 AA titles released January 2005 and earlier while the Wii only currently has 78 Wii titles with an aggregate score of 80% or higher.

I think this proves that the Wii has somehow beaten the GCN in lacking quality games, something that most of us here on system wars would have thought impossible 5 years ago.

Perhaps, I didn't really like the Gamecube though so I'm fine with that.

I don't know...But I remember the Gamecube having more memorable games.

yeah its much much worse then GC, GC was actually a good gaming console

It was terrible to be an only Gamecube owner. So many game droughts, most of the year it was collecting dust.

Hell no. Tales of Symphonia and Wind Waker are the only things I enjoyed. Against TP, SMG, SSBB (superior to SSBM, IMO), the Wii is clearly better.

Gamecube is 100 times better than the Wii.

Yeah Wii is a great console but IMO every console ever created fails in comparison to the GCN.

gamecube wasent actully a bad console, people though that even if it had more GOTY then the others,

Gamecube was beast, the only reason the Xbox was my main console last gen was because of Halo.

The Wii gave many good games but most of them they look worst than the best XBOX games.I didn't have see any game on the Wii that it look better than Doom 3 and Conker - Live&Reloaded on the XBOX.....that is really sad.The only games that look a bit better is Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 but again the different it is not big.....

Let me reword that for you...

" Is the wii not as good as the GCN was?"

and the answer is yes, it wasn't as good as the GCN.

GCN was better at this point in their lifecycles, but itis one of the more underrated consoles. I mean, people rank the XBOX above the Gamecube...Halo's good, but the Gamecube lineup was way better overall.

I dont think ive heard one person say NATAL or sonys wands are going to be awesome. And 90% of the reason that gamers are mad that nintendo went so motion control heavy is because the hardware behind the system its self. Nintendo forced you into choosing different controls or way better graphics and online. If the wiis tech was atleast comparable to the 360, and could handle multiplat games like dead space, MW2, basically give you the same experience except with IR controls then gamers would take the system alot more seriously. But instead we get totally gimped/late ports of CODWAW and the original MW, with decent IR controls, at 30fps.

The Wii figures would look a lot better if you picked thru metacritic/gamerankings and pulled out all the 5/6's from games that otherwise got 8/9's. The reason the Wii gets so many games in the 7/8 range is because most of them have mixed reviews.

no brainer here the Wii has about 4 controller options but apparently there are no "gamer" games.

This must be the Developer's fault. If the Gamecube was so awesome shouldn't we be seeing enhanced Gamecube games for the Wii? well?

I guess this is why many people love the 360, the 360's controller has so many similarities to the Gamecube controller it's not funny.

Its because NGC was already taken by the Neo Geo Color (I think). So GCN (GameCube Nintendo) had to be its short.

4 gamecubes? Doesn't show it lol, I think they say 2 gamecubes ducttaped. Anyway the Gamecube was about Xbox level last gen(GC had to do 60fps for its best looking games, while Xbox 30fps.)

Gamecube is 100 times better than the Wii.
