Is the Wii worse than the GCN was?

The Gamecube is a much better console than the Wii is. I enjoy both of them, though.

The Wii is, so far, not even close to gamecube AAA levels; the Gamecube is my favorite console of all time. Insinuating that it's on the same level or worse than the Wii is insulting

GCN was better at this point in their lifecycles, but itis one of the more underrated consoles. I mean, people rank the XBOX above the Gamecube...Halo's good, but the Gamecube lineup was way better overall.

4 gamecubes? Doesn't show it lol, I think they say 2 gamecubes ducttaped. Anyway the Gamecube was about Xbox level last gen(GC had to do 60fps for its best looking games, while Xbox 30fps.)

But the entire point in my post is that The Wii isn't any worse than what the Gamecube is.

Developers just aren't putting the effort like they did in the Gamecube era.

and don't give me a list of Games cause I know what the games are and you must admit.

It's the Developers fault that the Wii is in it's current state not Nintendo.

It was terrible to be an only Gamecube owner. So many game droughts, most of the year it was collecting dust.

.....aaaaaaannnnd here's the reason everybody loves the GC and hates on the Wii. Much the same way everyone here has a nerdgasm whenever the Dreamcast gets mentioned, it's cool (well, as far as the word "cool" goes on here, we ARE on a video game message board after all) on System Wars to love the "underdog" and hate the popular choice.

This whole phenomenon can be very closely compared to why Indie Music's so highly revered (read entry #41 from Stuff White People Like). You can practically replace every mention of music with Nintendo and have it apply perfectly in here.

And no, it's not because of the games; people just tend to look at the N64 and GC lineup with rose-coloured nostalgia glasses.

Also, IMO the GC controller is one of the worst gamepads ever made, behind the fat Xbox and DC.

The Gamecube had an awesome line up of games.

I certainly played my GC more than I currently play my Wii.

I don't regret buying the Wii but I definitely remember the Cube getting more high quality games (which is bizarre, it sold so little compared to the Wii so you'd think it would be the other way around).

GC had many great games seriously I'm no Nintendo fan but it was the only Nintendo console which I liked it was very close to PS2 in term if its great games.

To be blunt, The Wii is better than the Gamecube.

I mean, people waited how many years for the ps3 to have games like FFXIII, KZII, Uncharted II, etc.? A long time, thats what.

Heh, that was interesting. But at least in my case I'm not just looking back at a system I haven't touched in 4 years. I still play SSBM somewhat frequently. And the Gamecube had a bunchofgames that scored and sold well, it's not exactly obscure.

Sadly last generation I consider GC was a very good competitor for PS2 it got nearly as much playtime as PS2 from me last generation but this generation Wii is collecting dust for most of the time.
