With september right around the corner and no price/launch date and launch line up can we assume that the Wii-U might not make it out this year?

MS announced in the September, launched the december of the same year.
Could easily happen for the Wii U, production starts early september and all the details announced around TGS.

Really? Hmm I didn't know that.Yeah but they had some issues at launch :P considering we've got games running on the console at comparable performance to the current gen offerings make me think its within the next 6 months anyway, not to mention its one of the most lucrative times for sales full stop.
Huh??

They will announce exact price, date & reveal tons of stuff about Wii U hardware as well as hand out the finalized software lineup.
It has already been confirmed that it's launching in 2012, the aim is to get it out in NA in time for black friday, they said this in an investor meeting after E3.
Yeah but theres no hype :( Poor sheep i smell a flopRR360DDOkay. If there's no hype, how can it flop? :?

I remember MS had the Power brick overheating issue right? IAnd absolutely. But You need to get to the crowd before those sales start :PNintendo loves silence. Even more so in recent times.
Wii U will launch in Q4 2012, worldwide. Nintendo has a shtload of content releasing in 2013. They just refuse to talk about "for competitive reasons".
It's quiet annoying as a fan.

It's a different kind of flop.
A game that is hyped here but doesn't flop in the Score can Flop in Sales.
Like the Vita. It's everything you want for a Handheld, but it's been Flopping since it launched.
They're scarping Wii U and going back to the drawing board :o Well, they should and launch a true next gen console at around the same time as MS & Sony. :P
Seriously, it's coming 2012, no doubt about it.
doesnt look like it, seeing as nintendo isnt letting anyone know about anything.campzor
They also waited until September with Wii so there goes that argument.

I think wiiu was delayed because of initial impressions and not enough games being ready. After acknowledgements by Nintendo in regards to a goofed 3ds launch, I would not be surprised if they have things planned to a T. I fully expect a MASSIVE game or two to release around the time of ps4/720.[QUOTE="SuperFlakeman"][QUOTE="campzor"]doesnt look like it, seeing as nintendo isnt letting anyone know about anything.Heirren

I think Nintendo planned to release it sooner, yes. I think the hardware was likely improved since then, though. I'm talking about the initial planning of the launch, though.[QUOTE="Michael0134567"][QUOTE="RR360DD"]Yeah but theres no hype :( Poor sheep i smell a flopHeil68Okay. It did until the price dropped, and even now it isn't setting the world on fire. Selling faster then the fat DS (which the PSP was beating), but they need to find 3X the sales over the coming years to match the DSlite monthly sales. It did until the price dropped, and even now it isn't setting the world on fire. The Original Pricing of the 3DS wasn't what Nintendo was Expecting, but it still sold very well.
Nintendo just had incredible expectations.

I have thought that it was perhaps Nintendos way of increasing the price of their overall product line. I go back and fourth on this, but sometimes I think nintendo lowered the specs on the wiiu do to poorer than expected 3ds sales.I think they are over-charging for it and they know it. If they release the system price late it will give people less time to reconsider their purchase. So people will more likely impulse buy it instead of waiting. I am getting it only because I already sold my PS3, some of my 360 games, and have already put my PC on craigslist. It supposed to be sold by the end of the week. I went this far.....might as well get it.Its still coming out this year....Nintendo just announces these things really late nowadays. It happened with the Wii too. I don't know why they wait so long though.

The motion control gimmick was a lot more inticing than a controller with a screen.

Um... was E3 2005 in September instead of May or something?[QUOTE="bc1391"]I think they are over-charging for it and they know it. I went this far.....might as well get it. It's more likely that they are looking at what people think the expected cost will be. They surely won't drastically overcharge. The general consensus that I gather is that most people think it will be $299. In this case, Nintendo may go for anything up to $349 and include Nintendo land with the console.(I wouldn't be surprised though if it comes up at $399 with Nintendo land, though. When you look at electronics these days, people are willing to pay. An iPad ranges from $399 to $800--people will still buy wiiu at 399 with a game, they'll just be a tad more hesitant. Its still coming out this year....Nintendo just announces these things really late nowadays.
