Well I obviously know some things about it since a lot of the stuff I mentioned is pretty spot-on. Nice sig btw.

Master_ShakeXXX

Nothing you mentioned is spot on.

Yes it is. I said it was short, which it is. I said it is linear, which it is. I said it has little replay value, which it does.

My first reply to you still stands, you know nothing about this game.

Witcher 2 has good replay value. 25 hours isn't too short, I can beat FFX in less time. Linearity in an RPG is a pretty wide accusation. FFXIII is linear and Witcher 2 is much more open than it. It's maybe a step behind Dark Souls in linearity.

I think there is some general confusion about how to actually enjoy this hobby.

If you plan to go through Witcher 2 in 25 hours, then this game is simply not for you. I mean why spend time playing games you don't like, I don't get it.

If the game didn't have enough drawing power to even make you consider playing through all the side quests then this game is not for you.

I know instantly what games I like and don't like cause I don't have time to waste playing through games I don't find to be spot on.

Maybe the kids of today are more into bragging rights of having played a game then actually enjoyed it.

BTW. Witcher 2 is not short. In fact it has more replay value than most games out there thanks to all the choices you are confronted with that changes the flow of the story.

In comparison I find DS to be a much more linear game. Just because you can choose in what order you whack your monsters doesn't mean it's not linear. There is no story flow that changes drastically depending on how you tackle various situations.

A fantastic game sure, but In terms of what constitutes a PC game for it's freedom, options and control; shogun 2 is the best PC game as a package.

I didn't like it... the fact that you can't create your own character is a huge let down to me. I just can't play a RPG where I can't create a character.

As much as I love the Witcher 2, I'm gonna go with Shogun 2 Total War and Trackmania Canyon at the moment. As for multiplayer? BF3, no question!

Its the best game this year on any platform, I have a huge backlog yet Im still playing The Witcher 2 through again at the moment (that last update made a new play through a must).

I don't know why you had to add the dig in about pc games being glitchy though, the advantage we have is at least we can actually fix it ourselves.

Probably not. Seems like it has been completely forgotten by everyone except diehard PC fans. At this rate I'm not even sure it will get nominated for Best RPG, let alone GOTY. Witcher 2 just seems like a failure. Ohwell, who needs short and linear little RPGs with little to no replay value like that when amazing games like Dark Souls exist. Hell, I'm not even a fan of Skyrim but it still looks leagues better than Witcher 2. Harsh but true words.

How about you actually play it before palming off your false assumptions as truth.

No, poor gameplay, doesn't matter if the graphics are good, or if the story is enjoyable, the gameplay is boring. I've heard the gameplay was updated recently, but I can't really be bothered to update it and find out if it's actually worth playing.

I'm agreeing with you on this one, if the likes of ME2 and TW2 become the standard "great" PC RPGs than RPG gene will turely die on PC

what happen to all time classic real open world games like deus ex(HR is awsome don't get me wrong) and TES3? where you not only change the course of your story and quest by your conversation choices but also your action. kill most NPC at will, not to mention how much more contents those game packed, and most importantly, the fate of my charater is controlled by me at all time, your rely on my charater's gears and spec, not lay on some silly QTE event with last check point.

if anything, skyrim and deus ex should be the best game on PC this game, and BF3 of course

There were a few who used to say Duke Nukem.... thankfully they're silent now.

By saying the course of your "action" i mean something like lurking around the woman's room and you lose karma from your female quest person because you were caught on camera

To kill or save a story related NPC to see how the world turns different is far more existing then pick a scripted choice, which can be easily keep the last save and reload to see how each one plays out, and as expected, none of them are interesting.

except the first chapter's choice where you have to decide to go with elfs or blue strip(medieval FBI totally awesome...not) most choices are pretty much no brainers they are either between best reward or ok reward, fight this person or not to fight, romance or no romance. And don't even get me start on combat/

Give it credit where iss due, by no mean it is a bad game, graphic is great and production value is decent, but it has no place to stand between PC's hall of famer (Deus EX, TES1.2.3, gothic1.2.3 etc)

There is still Skyrim and Dark Souls for the huge open worlds

Also Witcher 2 is nothing like Mass Effect 2 case, it may be a lot of linear and nothing like DS or Skyrim, but is still a partially open world and offer a good deal of exploration, like Fable games

Exclusive PC game, yes definitely. But it's no longer exclusive. Exclusive for 2011 only. Anyways. Something about TW2 didn't sit well with me and I'm a major The Witcher fan. The atmosphere and dark tone is completely gone. I prefer The Witcher 1 over TW2, but TW2 is way more polished and has a better engine. Excellent support from CDPR. Mad props to them. They continue to do what they do best... from Enhanced version to TW2 2.0. They're wonderful.

Dark Souls is vastly superior in gameplay and design, so while it is a great game and my 3rd best probably, it is nothing like Dark souls

Yeah but it is way behind The Witcher 2 when it comes to characters, story, and the dynamic of being able to decide the outcome of the game based on your decisions.

What??? This post is full of nonsense. The fact that you compared Mass Effect 2 to The Witcher 2 is a fail on all levels. Sounds like you never played TW2.

oh yes, I have, how can I forget about that 30 mins chapter 3? and it's a vomiting experience, they are far similar in structure than TW2 vs skyrim in comparison, one major different is that TW2 is has level to level based, what you play next level is depend on your choice in pervious level, where ME2 you can choose one between 4.

The point is neither are amazingly impressive in term of offering players the scale of freedom(i mean real freedom) and action as games like gothic1. 2 and TES did. so best PC game this year? of course it goes to shogun2
