The PC has mics, and like said previously, all multiplayer games have voice support. The PC is a wide open platform, hence why it isn't unified, and there are different options for the user, which in turn allows for people to use mic if they choose. But also saying that, every game is unified on their own, since they have built in voice chat. Also, by using an app like Xifire, you can chat at anytime. I do, and so do my buddies, so voice chat is something I'm used to on PC.
I wouldn't say that everyone cheats, that is far from true. There are cheaters, but there are easy ways to avoid them. Infinity Ward is coming out with their own system much like VAC is used on Steam, which works very effeciently. PunkBuster is great as well, and is used in many games. Not to mention, it's not hard for people to get caught cheating, and once that's uncovered, they are almost always insta-banned from the service and/or server. It's one of the trade offs of having a wide open system.
Teamkilling is only a problem when you enter a server where there are a bunch of &*&holes, but I haven't had that many problems. An easy way to aviod that is to go on servers where Friendly Fire is off, which is the majority of servers I have played on, so that's not an issue for me.
Like I said, for consoles, MS hit a home run with their service, but at the same time, I don't think anyone should have to pay for P2P online play, as I'm used to having it for free and it doesn't cost MS a penny. I think in due time, MS will enable their service for free, as they already make money through selling content, movies, and whatever. This should be plenty to support their service. But at this time, that's only speculation, but it would give a definite edge over their competition.
out of say 64 people playing in a BF2 server how many do you think are using mics?
BF2 has built in mic support, so every server supports it.
thats not what I asked, I asked how many people in a 64 player room in BF2 have mics. The correct answer would be about Zero, I hardly ever see rooms with people in it with mics.
you can never tell for sure since the game purposefully only lets you communicate with your squadmates...or 5 other people max.
many do have mics....especially if you join a clan...where almost everybody uses one.
