@Salt_The_Fries: I don't believe the PR about the targeted resolution and framerate. That's just talk to sell their game.
Rocksteady said the same thing about their game for the last year and then Batman AK shipped at 900p for Xbone, 1080p PS4, and broken on PC. Longstory short, we can't assume anything about the final product of Fallout for Xbone or PS4.
The mods for Fallout seem cool, but we had that with Unreal on PS3 and not on 360 and in the end it wasn't a big deal, and that's assuming that the PS4 won't have mods which is a big assumption.
"While the developer has expressed their intent to also make Fallout 4 mods available on the PlayStation 4, the feature has not yet been officially confirmed for Sony’s current-gen platform." http://www.inquisitr.com/2199915/fallout-4-mods-still-need-sonys-approval-before-coming-to-ps4/
I don't see Sony not allowing mods as they've always been pretty lenient.
That said, Bethesda games are always glitchy and like all of Bethesda's games, this upcoming Fallout is best served on PC for sure. As a collector avoiding as much DRM as possible, I'm getting a physical C.E. on console, but I'm not sure version which yet until it releases. I'm not dying for it or anything.
You are a lot better when you are being yourself instead of a corpo-whore shill :<
With mods I didn't mean the fact if Sony would have objections or not, rather the capacity to make them work on their consoles.
And I didn't assume MODS WON'T COME TO PS4. I assumed they MIGHT or MIGHT NOT(despite the claim that MAYBE THEY WILL AT LATER POINT) COME.
I am perfectly aware Unreal Tournament had mod support for PS3, but in case of Fallout or any Bethesda games mods are the single most important feature that drives sales and builds community on PC. So this is not an obscure feature.
I have no reason to discredit their 1080p/30fps claim as they said it in a very specific way that it is 1080p/30fps, plus Creation engine isn't a very taxing engine anyway.
:) Corpo-whore shill? Funny....haha. I thought that's the game you were playing when you created the thread regarding Fallout, eh? I was just playing along, lol. Devil's Advocate and whatnot, especially that whole bit with you declaring PR parity with games that aren't finished. I win either way since I have the consoles and can play any of the games I desire. It is you that cannot make the same claims, amigo. Whatever console version is better, you will be forced to buy it on Xbox, so good luck to you, I say.
My point about any game, Fallout or otherwise, is that is it unwise to declare parity before the game releases which is what you are banking on regarding Fallout. It just so happens we got a year+ of that same type of Parity PR hogwash (to not anger their fans and sell as many games as possible across multiple platforms) from Rocksteady and WB regarding Batman, only to see them fail to deliver parity with the final product. In fact, WB and Rocksteady were VERY quiet about the end result and seemed hopeful people wouldn't uncover the truth. WB certainly wasn't straightforward to the gamers. Anyways, why would gamers want a deliberately gimped version released? They wouldn't. I have all the machines, if one machine is better than another, then I think devs should exploit the hardware. It doesn't matter the game, I've said this about the freakin' Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS1, SNES, and other consoles before but it's the same today. Push the Xbone, the PS4, the Wii U, the PC as far as they can and want. The only reason these companies keep saying "parity" is to not piss off fanboys and not lose any sales.
Hey, it's certainly possible Fallout 4 will be 1080p/30fps across both machines...but maybe it won't. I certainly am not going to be believe the corpo-whore shills selling their game with their silly PR. Which is sort of what you did, didn't you? We've come full circle. Bottom-line, we just don't know the score until it's out.
It just so happens Bethesda make very buggy games as well. That also could be a factor in the purchasing of these games. Assuming the games are actually the same then we gamers with multiple machines might ask, "Which console version of fallout 4 will be less buggy?" Again though, the joke of "parity" and PR is a reoccurring pattern.
Company A tells us they will achieve parity, game fans don't worry, and buy their game!!!
Company A releases a game that in fact is better on one of the machines.
It's a pattern.
Solution: Stop believing the PR every time a new game is announced. People get excited, I get that. However, what you want to believe about their game is what they are telling you before it's out. It's not a coincidence. They want that excitement from fans and companies aren't going to tarnish that by saying people should buy a PS4 or Xbone since it will be better for the other machine. They want big sales on BOTH machines and more.
I do agree mods are pretty slick and if for some strange, odd reason the PS4 doesn't support mods, that might be a bonus for Xbone...but it's too early again to declare that the PS4 won't have that either as I cited above with a link (there are many). If Sony doesn't sign off, then that's going to be a nice bonus for Xbone.
That said, I am still unsure which console version I'm getting, but despite the DRM issues I have as a collector, PC seems the safest bet. Thing is, I was never a huge Bethesda fan, but this forum is, I get that, but I just don't see the glory in their games but I enjoy them.
