PS3

Free online $50/year

Doesn't break (mines broken twice already in less than a year...) 1 month

Blu ray (don't need to buy an extra thing to watch a format above normal DVD) $170 (i think)

Controllers are rechargable (Don't need an extra thing there) $20/controller

Built in wifi (No need to buy an extra there)$100

Built in SD card thing if you care?

Online browser ?

only $50 more expensive than elite but with elite you need to get live, wireless internet adapter, HD movie thing, controller charger, to just about even out with what you get from the ps3 alone.

I like how none of those points had anything to do with what consoles are actually for: playing games!

Prettymuch unless Halo is your drug of choice, PS3 is the best to own out of the two for now and long term.

If your PS3 broke would Sony replace it?........ thought so.

Yes they would check in the PS3 forum. First you have to find someone who actually had one break. You might have to really search for it.

Then see how long it took. I've seen some people get them back in two days. One day overnight, and the next day Sony overnights one back. That was happening quite a bit last Christmas and was great customer service from Sony.

These things completely contradict each other. If PS3 don't break then why did people have to send them back to take advantage of Sony's "great customer service" ? You say this was happening quite a bit....

Just asking.

I wouldconsider which exclusives I want to play the most, including games on the horizon. As with the 360, the PS3 has a pretty good selection of good games to play right now. If you don't have a 360 (and that's the situation the topic implies), then you have to count multi-platforms, because the only way you'll be able to play them is if you have atleast one console or the other. It doesn't make sense to pretend they don't exist, as many seem to do.
