Is there even a "war" between Xbox and PS anymore?

Been away for almost a decade... and there was a real fight between PS and Xbox then.

Does it even exist at this point? Can't imagine there are too many people touting the praises of the Xbox dOne.

This whole generation is a wash for MS's Xbox. The exclusive libraries of the two systems aren't even in the same ball park.

Xbone is hanging in there, flopping along. Like someone here on System Wars once said: Xbone is the flop that keeps on giving.

It depends on the region you're in. In North America and some other western derived markets the Xbox One is extremely competitive, while in other non western markets it's not. The PlayStation 4 has at this point basically sold 80 million and the Xbox One 40 million. In North America the consoles are somewhat pacing each other and they trade blows here and there, while in other parts of the world the PS4 is outselling it 3-4:1.

No. The "war" is over. Sony has a massive lead, and even MS admits that it's too big to catch.

Playstation knocked down Xbox a few months ago. A couple of weeks later, Nintendo stamped on Xbox and put the final nail in the coffin.

I would say that Sony is now mainly competing with Nintendo.

The only war occured last generation because of Sony stupid decisions with PS3 hardware. Wii though won the war, never forget.

Xbox is very much it’s own thing now. It’s not as popular as PS but it has its own audience. I think the systems are different enough now that they can’t really be compared in terms of sales.

PS4 won the war long ago. Xbox fanboys are still fighting without guns though..

XBox has a vocal fanbase. They at least try to make it interesting, but right now it's pretty grim for them. All they can do is parrot "movie game" at everything and it got old in about a week.

The sad part isn't the data, it's that you cared enough to compile it yourself so that you could use it as an arguing point about NA sales of PS4 vs X1

I've had this for a while now per a request elsewhere, since then I've been adding to it to keep track as I already did the initial leg work so it can easily be presented such as here when numbers fall into question. It's useful data to have and something people are generally confused about and curious of.

Why not? We spend so much time on these kind of boards regardless so it hardly cut into any valuable time which would be better spent. Also it wasn't compiled to confirm that the PS4 is outselling the X1, it was compiled to assess by how much. As I said this is something people seem to be continually confused by or exaggerate grossly.
