is this really an ongoing problem on PSN?

or are these significant issues they're listing not valid to cows experiences with PSN -real question-? if so cows seem to be compromising a lot to show Sony support. because that seems like a nuisance in comparison too...

really, we all knew that Xbox Live is just a better service than PSN. but i had no idea PSN is actually faulty. are the complaints these two pro Sony journalists have with psn valid? besides waiting a long time for updates to software, we all know that's true already. but yea, i'm interested to hear from cows and PS4 users on this.

The ps4 is fine. There are only a select few people like him and celebrities that have 2000 people on their friends list. They need to fix the scrolling and other things but it's not much of a priority right now when propably only 10 people have 2000+ friends.

The Xbox needs to work on it's lousy OS, and it's store that randomly refreshes when you are browsing it. The OS is a complete mess on Xbox one. Why is everything segmented in to an app like the friends list? This isn't a tablet. I guess I need to get used to my new Xbox because I keep hitting b button to go back to the previous screen and an app I recently closed starts up again.Most of the updates MS is doing so far has already been on the ps4 since launch except for the media playback.

For various reasons I still believe the PSN network is nowhere near as good as XBL, but this is the first time I hear about what those IGN editors are talking about....either it is not very widespread or people don't care. The Xbox One is certainly not bug free, I mean the other day I unlocked several achivements in Dance Central Spotlight and did not get those notifications, though that is extremely rare and I am in the early preview program so maybe my update build was not solid enough.

It's normal these 2 consoles are not bug free yet at this stage, but I have to say the amount of updates the Xbox One has received in the past few months compared to PS4 has been staggering. Wait until you guys see the October update, you can now snap friends list, messages, and messages are now in conversation format....the dashboard has a new friends section that is pretty cool, includes an achievement leaderboard now amongst other things. And it's not just the console itself, Smartglass is great now and has received numerous extensive updates since launch as well.

Anyways, I don't know which interface is better overall because I don't have a PS4, but its O-S seems to have received such minimal updates since launch, I'm not too sure what to think about that(is it so perfect it needs no update?). Maybe next year if I get one I will be able to give more feedback.....either way both machines could use improvements for sure, I'm still disappointed they don't allow us to play our own background music on Xbox One, one of my favorite features from the 360 and currently the most requested new feature on the Xbox One feedback site. It will only get better from here guys, that's the good news.

Its more probable that the only people that have this problem are those that have hundreds or even thousands of friends.

@Alucard_Prime: i'm curious too. because that video was pretty damning. Greg and Colin are pretty big Sony supporters over at IGN and they just went to town on PSN in that video. it makes me wonder if PSN really is in shambles like they seem to be saying. that the service has serious functionality and stability issues. i mean, deciding to clear out their friends list, or just not add many people at all just so it will work is pretty messed up. especially since its a paid service now. whats the point of being able to add 2000 people if the system starts breaking down after u add 10 or 20 people...

that's why i came here asking cows and ps4 owners...has PSN repeatedly crashed on you while trying to sift through ur list of friends to find someone? is it difficult to actually find certain people on ur friends list that you are trying to game with, or contact? are notifications all screwed up in general like they are saying? along with the other issues they mentioned, is PSN just a faulty mess?

because these are two Sony guys saying this but its still hard to believe it's been this bad for this long without any of you guys mentioning it.

Think about what you're doing: making a thread about some users having problems with having 2000 people on a friends list. Not exactly a common scenario for most gamers. It reeks of desperateness. I see you on SW constantly making bullshit topics and comments about Sony, PSN and cows.

I have yet to have a single issue with PSN on the PS4 so far. The only issue I've had with my PS4 at all is right after I installed Infamous:SS it crashed for some reason and I had to delete and reinstall the game.

PS4 has tons of online players, I just feel that if this issue was widespread we would have heard more about it, not just in this video with those 2 guys....in other words, this is weak evidence, and I suspect that it only affects people with tons of friends.....doesn't excuse the fact that it seems to exist and I never heard Sony wanting to address the matter either(I mean what's the point of boasting you can have so many friends if it does not work properly when you get that many right?)......anyways, I doubt any honest answers will emerge from this board......but this was interesting nonetheless, because I really enjoy the social features of these new consoles, and I think next gen has done a wonderful job will that video capturing and Twitch integration.

Yea, xbox needed all these big updates because MS is playing catchup adding stuff PS4 had since launch, but it's getting there. PS4 needs to add things too. The 2000 friends thing is kinda dumb though, who wants to have that many unless you are a famewhore? I'm sure it's more taxing to load and scroll 2000 profiles than 100.

thanks, congrats on winning it all last season. but yea, the team really is going in the right direction, and are fun to watch. fast paced with some interesting schemes...a lot of weapons on offense. Chip Kelly is really a godsend. but honestly they still look like they're trying to get their feet under them a little...especially Foles. once they do the blowouts will finally come...i hope lol.

Sony false advertising is an ongoing problem.

It's just an unstable thing when you have over 300 friends but come on how many people have that many friends of which you actually interact with, it's just pointless, I mean I'll admit I have about 150 friends on it, but really I don't interact with that many people.

there new to all this social aspect give them time, Microsoft have been doing social since the beginning of windows so they know actualy whats going on. I'm not defending them i just see the logic in it.

anyway, back on topic. here's another instance of a disgruntled ps4 user i ran into who's frustrated with the ability of PSN. he mentions it specifically at around 1:41:15 to the 1:42:00 mark. it's weird, because i mentioned before, i heard nothing about this from ps4 users at all. i think the issue is that the console has been out for almost a year now and users are gradually adding more people and the issues with PSN are just becoming more of a problem.
