Switch - About to close out another strong year. Finishing with DPP remake and SMT V. Arceus Legends coming in January 2022. Best-selling console for several years in a row. Its first-party titles have never been so strong with over 10 games selling 10M+ copies.
Playstation - Never really faltered since the late days of the PS3. This year wasn't its best but it still came out strong with notably Returnal, and R&C: Rift Apart. This was after 2020 where they delivered DeS Remake, and Miles Morales. Next year they have two heavy hitters in GOW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.
Xbox - After what was arguably its weakest generation, Phil Spencer has righted the ship. Xbox Games Studios have excellent titles (even on other platforms), such as Psychonauts 2, and Deathloop. The Xbox brand finished the year strong with Halo: Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. Game Pass continues to grow and offers tremendous value. The sales are reportedly very good even though we don't have the figures anymore. The main game to watch out for next year is Starfield (though I highly suspect a delay).
PC - What can I say? It's getting all Xbox Games Studios titles in addition to some older Playstation games. Emulation is an option for Switch games. Basically a one-stop shop for all of your gaming needs. Closed out the year with Halo: Infinite, and Forza Horizon 5. Is also getting Starfield, Forspoken. FF VII Remake just came out on Steam. We're getting GOW 2018 in Jan, and Uncharted 4 later. The one black eye is the GPU shortage and high prices. Besides that, in terms of content, nothing comes close to PC when it comes to sheer volume and quality.
All in all, all platforms are doing very well. Xbox was the one that was ailing for years but it's come back and kicking ass and has a slew of AAA titles in the making. No matter what you own at the moment, your gaming needs are covered.
