Is Uncharted As Good As Everyone Makes It Out To Be?

I'm trying to figure out what this game brings to the table that other games haven't.

Not much. The high production values, interesting characters, good graphics and fun story make the game worthwhile.

Uncharted 2 certainly is but I did'nt care much for the first one.

Its an awesome game. Definately worth the money.

Mostly, it doesn't introduce anything vastly new when looking at other games, but it takes the best of a lot of games and genres and puts them together into an incredible experience. The only thing it really revolutionized was the cinimatic experience of games. It is nontheless, an amazing game and if you own a PS3, it is need to buy game.

People need to stop playing the innovation card to downplay a game. All shooters are carbon copies of Wolfenstein, and all RPG's are rip offs from DnD, if you put it that way. So no, Uncharted 2 brings nothing new to the table, but it's still an awesome game. I'm playing through it the second time and it still feels like it's my first.

I thought it was pretty epic but unoriginal. It's a must play type of game imo. You should rent it and if you like it enough buy it.

The first I hardly heard great things about, so I disregarded it. The 2nd I played and was great but not as good as the praise that came with it.

It's not like a Fluke game, it's getting GOTY at most gaming websites, and is One of the HIGHEST rated games this entire gaming generation, for great reason.

Check Metacritic. As far as those that play games based on HYPE, they will always be let down, that's what they get.

idk everyone here seems to think everyone else has some sort of malicious intent in every sentence for some reason, but anyways, I think uncharted is special because it delivers just on every level. It feels like your playing a movie, the closet thing to indiana jones in games this gen youll get. While the gameplay its self may not be original its super refined and blends all the elements together better than every other game. The gameplay with the guns plays just as smoothly as gears but if you could jump and fly around the environment like in infamous just minus the lightning powers.

Uncharted 2 deserves all the praise and awards its gotten imo. The game is amazing. It's nothing revolutionary (and a game doesn't have to bring anything new to the table to be good anyway), but everything about the game is top notch. That's why it's so great. Presentation, voice acting, visuals, gameplay, everything is superb. Combine that with outstanding co-op and competitive multiplayer, and you've got a damn good game! :D

The first one is great if you like it. In terms of story it is very good. Its not deep, there isn't alot to it, but it is very very enjoyable. The gameplay is also fun, especially in the second. I have yet to meet someone who didn't like the second.

I just played through the first one (borrowed it from a friend), and it was awesome, should have been a AAA (was according to most websites as an average of 90%).

I thought the game was very fun, had great controls, a good enough story, good graphics, was challenging, had a quite a bit of variety and was overall a great game. I wish it had been longer, 7 hours is short (but sadly has become normal), and that is my only complaint.

I am getting Uncharted2 soon, either for Christmas or buying and I don't think I will be disappointed.

The original Uncharted was overrated. The second, however, is as awesome as it's made out to be.

Once you start playing the Single player you'll find out that you have wasted about 6 hours of your life.....and continue playing because you don't want to put the controller down untill the game is over. (talking about Uncharted 2 here)

It doesnt really offer anything new if thats what your looking for. Still an amazing game though.

The first was good but the second one is miles better and my game of the year.

All UC2 brought to the table was leftovers, you won't find anything new, but what you will find is a solid action/adventure game that has gone above and beyond what the first Uncharted achieved. And I think the main message you should take with you is that a game doesn't have to be completely new and intuitive to be cosidered an absolutely superb game, which is what UC2 is. I recommend you try the game out when you get the chance, with an open mind. I'm quite confident that you'll love it.

yeah , its like "if its inovative, it sux", well, name one inovative big game this year...

U2 offers one the few types of experience this gen has, a treasure adventure, no blind killing FPS, or RPG.

i wasn't impressed at all by it. I actually think uncharted 1 was better...
