Is XBL STILL worth $50 a year???

Why would you continue to pay for XBL? Only viable reason I can think of is to game with already familiar friends.

It took Sony time, 2 years but then again Microsoft has been working on XBL since the first Xbox. What could you be possible paying for after July 2nd that is totally worth it?

Maybe not. But people will still pay for XBL because its the only way for them to play 360 games online. It really is as simple as that. Theres no hidden agenda. If M$ decided to give games the option to pay for Live, no one would.

No. Not true. XBL is not rubbish. XBL is still much better than PSN. It's just not worth $50. I dont understand the logic of thinking PSN is just as good, but free. How would that work, exactly?

It hasn't even been six years, never mind 10. :? And no, i dont think it's ever been worth the money. When it first came out it DEFINATELY wasn't as it literally offered exactly what you get with a PC. It only became close to being worth the money with the upgraded version released with the 360 which included many more features; but the fact that you still get ads, and have to pay for absolutey everything including avatars, quickly made the subscription worth even less.

$50 is so much money . If I would'nt have spent the $50 that year on XBL I could have bought a car.JwresB

Yeah, i think people should start charging for the public WiFi internet conections there are in some places...

it's the same thing, start charging for something that never had a fee.

only thing in this case is that the free service offer dedicated serves for some games, while paradoxically the paid service don't.

My point is, if you don't like the idea of paying for a service, then don't. If you are really that broke, then just....don't get it. Stick with the lackluster PSN. New in-game XMB and all, PSN still doesn't stack up well against XBL. Sitting on here complaining about XBL fees aren't going to stop MS. Personally, I don't run for shelter everytime I have to shell out a measly 50 bucks. I guess everyone that complains on here must be broke as hell.

I agree. lol, I'm 15 without a job and I'm still able to afford Xbox live every year and one month. It's not a lot at all.

Wishful thinking, The Ps3 keeps gaining ground in every field. 2.40 isnt the end of Psn Its just the start of the Pwnage, the only feature on 360 I was envious about was custom soundtracks and now the Ps3 has it too... All Sony needs to completely destroy xbl is Home.

The But The main body of PSN is rock solid now with trophies and XMB. Cross Invites will be implemented some time after, you re not denying that ms has nothing to counter Home btw...

we do not know that for sure..

and no..im not denying microsoft currently has nothing to counter Home. which is why i said before that im waiting till E3 to see what microsoft is going to bring to the table XBL related.

I'm being honest, but Home to me seems like a way of deadening the fact that there are a lack of games for the PS3. I have no interest in Home, it looks like the Sims. I hate the Sims.
