Is Zelda OOT in your opinoin still the best game ever?

Its been over a decade since the groundbreaking Ocarina of Time, Have standards gotten to high or is it still the best game ever.

IMO I bought mastersquest today and I always wanted to play oot since i was 8 yet I had the stratgey guide and not the game. I have always considered super mario 64 my favorite game of anything. And I am utterly been amazed at how well this holds up to today. Its just amazing I wonder why Zelda Tp couldent be this challenging. the enemies you have to actually try and the bosses are EPIC. Why did zelda tp have to be so easy?

Never thought it was the best game ever and always thought Twilight Princess was better.

Best game ever is so hard to define, even outside of the fact that it's merely an opinion.

But No, I would't say OoT is the best game ever.

I still consider it to be the best game I've ever play. There is not a single flaw or even a nitpick I could make about it

If the best game of all time is defined by the experience it gave around its release, then OoT is easily (for me, at least) the best game of all time. If the best game of all time is expected to hold up 10 years later, then the best game of all time only lasts a few months before something copies the idea & adds new ideas. Sure, the experience is no where near as good, but the game is technically better.

I voted yes, as the experience that OoT gave has been unmatched. Copies have come out that have improved aspects, but fail to deliver the experience because it's been done before. If my first definition is wrong however, the 'best game of all time' holds little merit; there will be something 'better' (more refined etc) in a few months.

For example, release Darksiders alongside OoT & see which game is generally favoured. I'm more about that little something special in a game, so I'd probably still have preferred OoT, but most would have much preferred the combat & graphics, at least, of Darksiders.

It never was the best game ever imo but it's still a brilliant game even by todays standards. If the graphics were updated to current-gen then I personally think every other area of the game design would hold up very well indeed.

It is my personal favorite game of all time. No other game can I replay over and over again and still have fun.

Beat the entire thing in one sitting a few days ago Im not a speed runner but I think I did okay for a 100% run.

Zelda OOT has been best game ever for a week.

Kotor & Hale CE are the best so far but even they won't ... Reach. :P

Its my most memorable and beloved gaming experience. If that counts as best game ever, I guess it is in my book. This all boils down to your personal experience with the title though. How old you were, what was going on in your life, what time of year it was, and whether you even like the genreall may affect the way you see a game. Theres no denying it was a very polished game for its time, but personal experiences can affect the way you remember a title.

It's without a doubt the best Zelda game ever. But it doesn't come close to being the the greatest game of all time. That title belongs to Tales of the Abyss.

No. Playing OoT is still mad fun, but you can feel how dated it is, seeing as a lot of adventure games have already adopted elements from OoT and perfected them (not in the last place subsequent installments of the Zelda series itself).

A lot of Nintendo games hold up well over time. This is why I prefer stylized graphics to realistic ones. Sure, Heavy Rain looks pretty now, but in a few years it will look like crap. Wind Waker, Mario Bros.3, Mario World, etc. will look appealing for ages.

No. Even when it first came out it was never even a consideration for the best game ever for me.

Nope , DOW1 is my favorite game ever.

The game is still amazing even on todays standards (obviously the graphics are worse). I have played it numerous times and love every second of it (well except for the water temple lol), so it is indeed the best.
