i suppose the sales make up for them being so overpriced for the rest of the year.

Exact same prices as the walmarts or ebgames near me.... Then you get the HUGE Xmas, New Years and summer sales on steam that you dont get at those stores.
I can't believe people still try to downplay this.[QUOTE="dog_dirt"]

Steam being cheaper is an overall myth. When new PC games first come out, they are the exact same price as the console versions. All of those "semi old" steam games, the console versions can be found on sale at stores too.Unnatural101
first, most new games are $50 for the pc version and $60 for consoles. second, where have you seen sales on non-used games that are as cheap as steam has?
my wallet is about to be valve B!$%*. its her first time.. be gentle steam ;P
also mahajong wisdom is on sales at gfwl for $2.50 and all bioshock 2 dlc that noramlly had a price is free and gears of war is 9 bucks off :)

Even the $80 BO was cheaper then getting the console version for me Sorry, but Black Ops in an American Game, therefore, I'm using US currency and standard. Black Ops was $60 in stores, just like every other new game (although some games are $50). At that time, Black Ops on Steam was also $60. in the UK it was £39.99 on steam and £29.99 at retail

if by "some" you mean "most" then you are correct.

in the UK a new release is almost always more expensive on steam than amazon.Yes dude, just yes. Want another Example? Standard MSRP of console MAFIA 2 was $60 in stores. It was $50 on steam. Some stores, you could find them selling Mafia 2 for $50 as well. Fry's Electronics had it for $52.99. So..again....yes, just yes. Steam is a myth, basically.Unnatural101
Lol denial is strong in this one.

i picked up new versions of Resistance Retribution and LocoRoco 2 for $8 (canadian, total for both). I also got resistance 2(original box, not the greatest hit) for 10.
RIght now, in canada, rogers has an amazing sale on where a ton of great games are 50-75% off. Games like Sin and Punishment 2, Mario Galaxy 2, and Other M.
Alot of stores also have sales that allow you to buy 2 games and get a 3rd free, buy one get one half off or something to that effect(though that can include the few pc games those retailers stock).
Steam sales are PHENOMENAL. But there's something to be said for owning a physical copy of a game. And there are some pretty sweet deals for console/handheld games too.
EDIT: That is a stupid good price for Meat Boy!

There's no "denial" here. I'm telling you what the prices were of those 2 games at retail and on Steam when they were brand new. It's not something I'm guessing....it was what it was. *shrug*Please Log In to post.
