wow even worse, why not work on a sequal then just waste time making a worse version of an already lame game. Not to mention it wont sell due to the lack of hardcore Wii owners.

Lame? You think killing thousands of zombies with hundreds of weapons is lame? Do you not have a soul?

RE4 and RE:DA sold 1 million a piece on the Wii.

That was fun but it got old after a while.
personally, i would have preferred they ported re5 to the wii instead, downgrade and all, but whatever. if this doesnt sell well, capcom can only blame themselves for releasing a changed version of a 2 year old gameredmetal86

Why dont you just buy a 360 if you want RE5.
do you actually think capcom wouldnt port re5 to wii sometime?? i mean its inevitablesuperjim42
its possible. but i dont want to take the chance of missing what they may cut. plus theres other games i want on the 360, and ive never been a one console person.

So it could have superior shooter controls instead of that last gen dual analog setup.or you could make graphics worse but gameplay better. seems like a more logical plan to me. i hope it both reviews and sells well. Capcom is one of the best third party supporter of wii in my opinionineedmoney555
Yeah I'll happily sacrifice the graphics (which weren't amazing anyway) for better controls, new features, new weapons/shops and better AI. They can easily balance out the reduced number of enemies on screen by making it so that the zombies are a bit smarter, rather than just having them lurch in your direction only when you get two feet in front of them, by which time you've either run them through with a sword or jogged off into the distance.
So far, everything I've seen from this port suggests that it will suck all manner of ass.
As someone who played the hell out of Dead Rising (100 hours, at least), I think I can safely say that this port is going to ruin nearly everything that made the original so great.
Let me count the ways:
*Removal of real-time structure, and implementation of a linear, typical campaign mode, organised by sub-missions leading up to major missions (this just plain sucks; noobification at its absolute worst)
*Massive graphical downgrade resulting in many less zombies onscreen, destroying a huge part of what made the game as good as it was. Oh noes, I'm in the maintenance tunnels, surrounded by hundreds, err, I mean, fifteen zombies...
*Removal of photo mode, which was an enjoyable mechanic in the original that brought me many lulz
This just looks like a lame port. Why even make this on Wii? It seems like such a waste, considering the fact that DR is one of the few titles that truly takes advantage of this generations high end console (contradiction in terms?) hardware...
Your never going to play it I dont see how it concerns youair_wolf_cubed

There are single console people out there and it may not be a problem for you but others do not have the money to spend on a 360 or PS3 so they go with the cheapest alternative.[QUOTE="air_wolf_cubed"]Your never going to play it I dont see how it concerns youSolid_Snake300

Wii can handle tons more than what you claim (If that doesnt happen its Capcoms fault not the Wiis) Its impossible to fit thousands of enemies on screen inside of a mall*Massive graphical downgrade resulting in many less zombies onscreen, destroying a huge part of what made the game as good as it was. What was the photo mode? why was it so enjoyable?
You'd think that by bringing it over they would try and recreate the main focus of the game which was all about hundreds of zombies onscreen at one time...

You dont wave your arms around to shoot you point at the screen. If you think you wave your arms around while shooting i hope you never wind up with a gun in your posessiondead rising was a borefest

so whats the point? They are just making Dead Rising a crappy RE spin off and it sucks. If Dead Rising two turns into a Wii multi-plat I will never look at Capcom the same. It is tragic that the Wii is downgrading this awesome game when they could have ported it to the ps3 and starving Sony fans with upgrades. Money talks and gamers walk.

Zombies were the obstacle not the objective in Dead Rising. Well, at least the real Dead Rising. With only 12 on screen they will become the objective.
I am willing to bet you never encountered half the crazy and hilarious boss fights in the game or people to save. Totally missing the point.
I read that Capcom said that Dead Rising wouldn't be a port, instead making it from the ground up, and use the RE4 wii engine. ;)

After I found out about the port I started an account there to voice my dissent and I said that lol....
I also cracked and came to SW again which I told myself I would not. But this is killing me. I am really, really bummed out they are doing this to Dead Rising. My favorite new IP this gen and a great game IMO.

Link to confirmation of that number As I recall, the announcement said there would be loads of enemies on screenI am just basing that off the screens for the Wii version of the game people have been posting at Capcoms website. That is also based of some of the game-play changes they are making. Dead Rising is not a shooting game and it seems like they are turning it into one. Even a full auto machine gun did not help get through that many zombies.

Why do you care if it comes to the Wii? It's not like DR is being killed off with it coming to the Wii. As a matter of fact, having more sales of Dead Rising would most likely lead to a sequel. Seriously, how can it be a bad thing?

You still have any item at your disposalTo prove wrong the myth that devs need 360 type power to make good games and that the Wii can't play those types of games?
Capcom = Nintendo fanboys confirmed!!
Zhengi
It won't be the same game on the Wii, period. The game was about surviving zombies not killing them and that was made possible by the insane number of zombies on screen. For example, collecting all the bombs in the parking garage wont even be the same thing. I would not be surprised if they take that section out all together.
If they say something like " the zombies in this game will be much faster and more aggressive" you know that the game is crap. ps3 should have seen the port, not the Wii. I won't care as long as Dead Rising 2 is not a Wii multi-plat but if it is you I can kiss this IP goodbye.

You still have any item at your disposalBut it is all about getting through hordes of zombies. I mean hordes. It just won't be the same game if you go out of your way to kill zombies. You kill zombies in Dead Rising, by the thousands, because you have no choice, not because that is the game. I really hope I am wrong and there are hundreds of zombies on screen and sections of the mall are chocked with them, but I doubt it.
Dead Rising was a zombie dream game for me. I hate it when zombies are made more then zombies, likeRE zombies. They are not zombies anymore but another type of undead totally. DR captured that B movie feel of zombie classics with an A quality game.
I am really bummed about this. I get annoyed when certain PC games go console multi-plat on the 360 and ps3 for the same reasons but those two systems are a lot more capable. I just love Dead Rising and this is killing me.
I hope I am wrong because I don't want to see this IP butchered. Nothing against Wii fans but for the first time I truly hate the Wii and how it is taking a game like this and changing its fundamental nature all because it has the largest install base.

This represented the tip of the ice-berg and now it is just an RE spin off and not a DR game. I don't want a sequel unless it expands on what made the game great. The Wii is rolling back what made the game great. I hope I am wrong and they get it done but I doubt it.
Another lame game with super zombies (in order to make them deadly and interesting) rather then hordes of true zombies would not be a sequel.
The 360 may be able to expand the series into what it should be. A high end PC could but this is a console game at heart. I wanted them to focus on what made the game great, not better shooting mechanics ripped off from RE to sale games on the Wii.

I agree that the wii version looks and sounds like garbage, but I think chances of a true sequel on the 360 are still pretty high.
