LG sued Sony first and it backfired. And Sony is notorious for counting anything that leaves the factory as 'shipped'. Again, compare the quarterly reports for any year against the 'predictions' and they are dead on. Being THAT accurate in their predictions for so many quarters is obviously due to their counting method. It's easy to produce 100,000 consoles at the factory then immediately count them as 'shipped'. I could guess the fourth quarter 'shipped' numbers with that system.KC_HokieExact same thing is happening with Microsoft and Motorola.

Sony very publically switched to accounting for sales using sell-in, compared to the accounting method used during the PS2 error.
