@TigerSuperman: yes I am and KZ franchise in general is more tactical than the mainstream shooters and has been since KZ2 with its at the time rarely seen in console FPS games, competitive dev support.
In BF4 - COD games, you can pick up any gun shoot, run n gun is preferred (not right way) and no emphasis on squad play or team. What is disturbing is that you can win this way. The main reason many people give KZ a bad rap is not because the game sucks well story does, but because the multiplayer is vastly different from what many COD players are accustomed too. Warzone is probably the most popular way to play KZ since KZ2. You are forced to follow objectives and not rewarded for killing or going solo since for starters health doesn't regenerate easily without medics. If your team is disorganized or can not be carried by a squad, KZ multiplayer is unforgiving more so than COD. Spawn killing and pinning down opponents is actually a strategy and not a cheap mechanic in this game simply because the payer has the power to tactfully choose where to spawn.
KZ is designed in a way where unlike COD you can't be an ace with any gun and not one weapon fits all. A good team must be willing to switch and use ALL classes in order to win. For example, if the enemy team has a decent amount of invisible snipers or scouts, but your team only has assault you will lose because you wont get any radar and can not find the invisible snipers. If enemy team is defending a capture point and your team only has scouts and assault, your team will lose because of the lack of spawns-HP-ammo from the support class.
Next, the weapons in this game are designed so that each has a crippling weakness. For example, the most powerful sniper rifle in the game has arguably the longest reload time and ADS meaning miss one shot enemy must really suck if you are not dead. A powerful LMG that support class uses has a rapid rate of fire, accurate at long distances, but you are not allowed to crouch. A medic who can't properly take cover.
Lastly, nearly every OP power in game that each class has, is coupled with a severe weakness. If you do not use it properly you are asking to be killed and how many casuals do you think will actually look at their surroundings to make sure it is safe before using KZ version of UAV? In KZ using UAV inappropriately alerts the enemy to your whereabouts. So for comparison purposes, imagine playing COD using KZs UAV and bingo the enemy now not only knows exactly where you are, but also has a rough idea of your squads position making UAV a double edged sword. The ability to create your own spawns is a great on paper, but in real life giving that to the the millions of disorganized FPS trolls spells disaster.
Many players don't take into account the small differences between classes and refuse to switch. Then add spawn trolls to the mix as well as powers with risks = annoying game. Its not as simple as getting into a plain and wrecking havoc like BF3 was for a while or cycling through your killstreaks and boom 15 kills.
