I don't even know where to begin with your post. But lets start out with a simple *facepalm

Secondly spell check and proof reading are your friends.

Not everybody plays games just for fun.

Visuals provide a level of immersion to accommodate an artistic and emotional narrative where being there and experiencing an alternate interpretation fo real life adds almost as much entertainment value as pressing the buttons. This is why people play games like Gran Turismo as opposed to Mario Kart or Call of Duty to Metroid.

I usually hate graphics vs gameplay debates but this is the most well thought argument I've seen in a while. Just switch COD and Metroid for COD and some shooter on Wii since Metroid isn't exactly a FPS.

Also, even the best Wii games have nice graphics too. Look at Galaxy for ex. If it had crappy graphics do you guys think people would praise it so much?

useing the "good graphics ,bad gameplay" argument is the same as using the "nostalgia" argument

they just dont work that way.

most games really are good as a whole, not just the graphics.

but i agree that the main problem of SW and many reviewing websites is that they put way more into graphics

then they should.

graphics are a part of a videogame, but by no means half of it or even 1/3,

the video game argument dosent help either.

considering there is so much more to think about when making a game then graphics and gameplay.

depending on the genre there is also story,sound and many many more.

just think of it this way.

if graphics really were half of a video game, why dont they all just play interactive movies?

I don't care what anyone says, but I do not want to play any games that look as horrible as Medal of Honor:Heroes 2 or Red Steel. I'm sorry I actually like my games to play good AND look good at the same time.

Graphics do matter. Perhaps to much. But they sure as hell matter.

That's why I'm playing on a GTX 280 and PS3 and Xbox 360 instead of a Sega Master System or NES.

That's such an opinionated statement. You prefering gameplay does not make it better. Despite his statement being completely irrelevant to anything, PS3 games are hardly better than Wii games, or 360 games or PS1 or SNES games for that matter in terms of gameplay. Its all opinion. Don't state it like its fact.

Wii is fun and all but the serious lack of games and serious amount of tripe on the system disturbs me. I only have like 8 games on my Wii while in just a year and 8 months I own 30 on my 360

I know i'm in the minority here, but i really don't care very much about story in video games. If i want a good story I'll read a book. For me its is the gameplay good? How is the atmosphere of the game? Grafix certainly can help or hurt the feel of the atmosphere of a game, so to me grafix are very important. Even more important than story.

Killzone 2 wasn't a generic shooter.

Graphics mean more immersion and I love a game that has great graphics. Shows how much effort went into the game.
