It's finally here... the halo killer....

We've all seen the term, we've all discussed and debated and furiously flamed. Killzone, Killzone 2, the real vs. fake trailer. The whole time we've argued who would dethrone the great console shooter "Halo". With all the debates of Killzone i think its funny that the real Halo killer snuck up around the corner with it's 60FPS and incredibly awesome exp and unlockables strategy.

We are talking, of course, about Call of Duty 4. Who would have thought that the Halo killer would be prowling on its own home turf, waiting to take down the king (of consoles).

The fast paced action, the incredible realism, the wonderful graphics, and the mind blowing 60 fps at 1080p. It truly sets the bar very high for games yet to come. I salute you Infinity Ward, you've realaly outdone yourselves. My days of Halo have ceased, and i find it difficult to turn back, after the beauty of war i can't stand the "jumping around like idiots" gameplay anymore. I'll see you all online in COD4, and god bless all you Halo fans, stick to your guns, and keep rocking your metal armor. I'll be with the big fish.... on my PS3 with free online and faster servers...

The Halo series will still go down in gaming history as one of the greatest fps franchises.

CoD4 is rocking my world too. I've always preferred games with real world weapons and only played Halo3 MP for a week or so before I hated it. that's because I rubbish at it though :cry:

You must not have a pc capable of running Crysis. It pretty much emptied a belly full of lead into Halo 3. Just wait till Game of the Year awards. 2007 will be the year of the Hermits. Muahaha!Realmjumper

don't you thin that a "halo killer" needs to have enough players? crysis is great and all. but im sure that not half as many people play crysis then the amount of people who play call of duty 4.

I'll give a timeline:

September 25: Halo 3 is released

November 5: Call of Duty 4 is released

November 6: Call of Duty blows away Halo 3 with nuke.

November 13: Crysis is released

November 14: Crysis pumps the shotty on CoD4 and then goes to Bungie to slap every developer in the face.

So as you see here, Crysis is now top-dog.

In terms of popularity and sales there won't be a Halo killer for a very long time to come. If we're talking about the quality of the game itself then Halo has been killed so many times its not even funny.

Popularity in sales doesn't make a great game. If that were the case then games like the Sims and wii- play are the greatest games ever.
