"sequel to a bad game"
I agree KZ wasn't the best game, but i'm fairly sure Guerilla was (back then) pretty much operating on an EXTREMELY low-budget (Imagine a garage band equivalent of game developer) with low resources...
Now they've got Sony practically up their ass watching over everything they do
Not to mention money, time, resources... Even if they wanted to make the same mistakes they made the last time, i doubt Sony would let them.
[QUOTE="htekemerald"]Killzone one sucked, unless KZ2 innovates its formula somehow it will suck. That is why innovation matters in the case of KZ2HaloJim79
Killzone 2 doesnt need to innovate.. name one other console game with as good particle effects, body animations and overall presentation as good as killzone 2, the gameplay looks to hold up really good. Who cares about innovation, I buy FPS for multiplayer, great graphics and great gameplay.. If im lookin for innovation ill buy little big planet

It has nothing to do with innovation. It has to do with the fact that Guerilla has never made a console FPS that can be described as anything above mediocre, even when Sony was giving them money and a sizeable marketing campaign. sonicmj1
you just proved the TC right.
they use the word "innovation" to hide that prejudice you're talking about.

He meant innovation in a FPS
[QUOTE="HaloJim79"][QUOTE="-GhostMLD-"]kz 2 seriously brings nothing new to the table gameplay wise
deal
masiisam
who cares?! why does every game need to reinvent the wheel. Thats the type of genre it is FPS.. You can easily say that Forza, Gran Turismo, and Call of duty 4 bring nothing new to the table at all, hell you can even say Gears 2 doesnt bring anything new to the table but they all look fun and amazing, so who cares about "innovation"
Ohhhh my...Show me one other racer that does what FM2 has done on a console?
TC..I guess it was not as easy as yea thought...

if he is looking for FPS innovation he would buy LBP?
Wow? Fanboy leave these fourms.
Halo 3 brought nothing? Forge? Theater mode? Wow buddy, srsly WOW.
Edit: Gameplay wise? Halo 3? Not really.
CoD 4? Well, its the first time I was able to use helicopters and air strikes to bomb the hell out of people in multiplayer online.
CoD4 also included the perk system.
hence neither of them innovated anything.Wow? Fanboy leave these fourms.

i get the feeling that, to you, innovative is synonymous with quirky and off-beat.
like someone else said. halo already had a good formula. it simply needed to improve on the ideas that it had. sense halo's sequels were only improvements on the original, most people like the original better (or at least the one they played first).
killzone, however, didn't get off to a great start from what i could tell (i only played the first 10-20 minutes). i remember some friends getting into the online, but overall- the reception (reviews, forums, etc.) wasn't that great. killzone 2 has to rethink its approach or it will end up being like the first one, but with great graphics.

If you're referring to the first Killzone, then you're wrong. They actually rushed the game and didn't contribute much to the development process aside from porting the game from PC to PS2.

True this is reason to cut them slack, but this is not reason to expect the Killzone 2 is going to be spectacular.

i see what you mean, my mistake started when he mentioned LBP as a game he would get if he wanted innovation despite the fact he was talking about FPS innovation
