I read that Ubisoft said it might be timed exclusive to the Wii U. It might be out for other platforms later.

Doubt it.

Red Steel 1 and 2 both serve as reasons/examples why not. Red Steel 2 especially was never going to be ported not after Ubisoft actively seeked help from Nintendo via Retro studios to get the controls correct after all the venom they received for Red Steel 1. Porting Red Steel 1 would always be a pointless endeavor when the main aspect and hyped part of the game being the controls. Same deal with ZombiU, porting and stripping it of the WUPad touchscreen controls (Which have been one of the main focusses of the game so far) leaves you with another shooter. No matter how unique it is there would simply be too much competition against it unlike having it exclusive on a brand new console.

For ZombiU to go Multiplatform Ubisoft would have to release it at the same time as the WiiU version (A late release kills the game saleswise, buyers would be buying an inferior version several months down the line vs getting the game the way it was intended on the WiiU) and even then it would still be the inferior versions for the PS360.

It's light-hearted/over the top and features humor (zombie face etc.)

The game isn't serious in tone, it's not a real horror game with "mature" content or excessive swearing or RE6-ish Hollywood moments. It looks like a kid-friendly zombie game to me.

I don't care much about the game personally, at this point it's on 'might check it out at a reduced price as it does some cool stuff with the gamepad' -status.

I think TC is wrong and he may be reffering to the whole "don't care for your PS360 games" line, the sheep are so eager to claim when cows/lems brag their titles... this of course involve hardcore stuff, blood, guns and pretty graphs, which would be the base for TC's mistake.

Don't really care that much about ZombiU but I'm super excited about Project P-100 and Rayman Legends tho.

Dumb thread. People are interested in it because it looks like a breath of fresh air in the FPS/survival horror genre (despite the fact that every other game these days features zombies).

You do realize that zombie games are a big mainstream trend in the video game industry right now, right? I'm not surprised it's the most tracked. Just because some people say they don't care about it, doesn't mean that they wouldn't buy/try it if it were to come to their console. Sort of like how I don't care about Gears of War 3, but if it were to come to PC, I would probably give it a whirl.

It looks cool and seems to be a breath of fresh air for the genre. Why wouldn't people be hyped for it? If it weren't being published for WiiU, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
