It's great that more people get to play Forza. But at the same time wouldn't this make the Xbox consoles more pointless to buy? If Microsoft starts releasing their future games on Playstation and the rumors that they might even do that for the Switch 2, it will most likely hurt their console sales even more. At this point Microsoft should just be like Sega and go straight to third party instead.

great game, and I would hope a lot of ps players get this game too and bring a larger audience. This is one of those games that deserve a huge audience, as well as MSFS. Both are masterpieces in their respective genres.

I'm thrilled that MS is finally making more profit by pushing multiplatform for a bunch of games. Forza is one of those that definitely would do great as multiplatform, and same with gears of war in my opinion. Halo also at this point, because it just needs a large an audience as possible.

The value proposition of xbox is gamepass, and that is what differentiates it, plus how well its integrated with PC and cloud. Other consoles don't have anything that is as seamless or affordable as a gaming machine.

Lets face it...theres no point in making games 1st party if people don't buy into your console. At least this way, you can target other consoles fans and bring them into the xbox family directly.

Well, one could say that the overspending as a trend has accelerated the end of exclusive gaming. These numbers publishers are spending and losing! My God how can they not go full multiplat? With the exception of Nintendo the other two have no choice any longer and well, they kinda did it to themselves.... Especially with Nintendo as an example of fiscal responsibility sitting right in front of them cleaning up. It's embarrassing... But gamers win.

Some folks like to pretend that Sony hasn't shifted gears with exclusives launching on PC faster than they release new games. 😂 Soon, they will realize that console gaming ship is sailing away.

Except PS5 is outpacing PS4 and that is with a higher price and having supply issues at launch 😎

@davillain: That's sensible IF you make games only, it's smart to put them on every platform posdible.

But when you have a platform of your own where you get 100% of the money (from digital) and 100% of the money when your store sells dlc and the like, then it's more beneficial to have as many people on your platform as possible, then to hedge your bets with a split strategy.

Well, I welcome MS officially joining PlayStation as a third party partner. If increasing ROI for their investors is their top priority, along with thousands of layoffs and studio closures, then going third party is an understandable decision in the short term, though not necessarily a good one in the long term.

In any case, PS is now the only platform on the market where you can play both the best racing sim (GT7) and the best open-world racer (FH5). I can't wait for Team Asobi to take Mario Kart and make the best kart racer, just like they took 3D Mario and made Astro Bot, haha.

That is great news. More games on PS is always great. Sony just need to improve the PS+ experience and mass migration will happen.

I can imagine that if Horizon sells well on PS5, we will be seeing Xbox games on PS5 Day 1 very soon.

Interesting to see whether or not they release a pro version that would be insane.

Launching multi platform games simultaneously day one would naturally be the best way. That way everyone can enjoy the games at the same time and it maximizes sales potential.

Sony's biggest publishers gonna rake in a shit tonne of cow cash sitting in the pockets of ps gamers starved of any first party offerings...i mean its one thing boasting about console sales as king,its another using your biggest competitor as a cash cow and making its console part of the xbox family like pc

Are people going to continue acting surprised every couple/few weeks an Xbox game or two are announced for the PS5 (or the upcoming Switch 2)? Phil quite literally said it's not in their best interest to keep games off other platforms moving forward and they don't intend to do so.

Like I said before, I'm not sure I really like this, but... if both have their own service, but I can only play all the games on one console then I'm moving forward with just PS, and if they offer gamepass on the PS eventually I'll sub to PS Extra and Gamepass.. hopefully they can bundle them into a package at some point.

That said I will buy another Xbox if they are the first to make a console/pc hybrid with the power and features of a next gen piece of hardware. If not however.. well unfortunately it's time for me to stop purchasing Xbox hardware and just support their software... which is what they want either way, so whatever.

Either way Xbox (MS) staggering their game releases is brilliant to keep the hype going. If they did it all at once there wouldn't be as much self advertising and hype. A LOT of people will buy first edition physical, or day 1 digital, games on Playstation like Forza, Halo, or Gears just to say they were there... and at the end of the day MS makes more money for their Xbox division which in turn can continue buying devs and publishers and cornering the software market with the extra sales, which in turn strengthens gamepass so they can offer even more and continue growing their service until it's almost essential.

The death of Xbox identity as an individual platform is in the horizon. Microsoft wants to become a Software publisher first and foremost. What they've always been.

The hardware beat downs (US, Eur, Japan etc) from last chrismas were the final straw.
