lol, seriously i think there are just too MANY pokemon nowEPaulAgreed. -.- I stopped watching the show because they just began looking and sounding stupid after Pokemon Silver...whichever season that was.

Gameplay wise no.
Alot was added in ruby/sapphire and diamond/pearl when it comes to the battle system.
Natures, the physical/special split, EV's IV's and a bunch of stuff
No, it does make sense, and there's actually attacks like "Overheat" that Rotom can use depending on what household appliance he is.
Nintendo isn't "running out of ideas." Maybe they thought they were being creative. Once I know everything about the different types, I'll judge if it was a stupid move or not.

Nope, it definitely got better. Play Crystal/Silver/Gold and compare it to Diamond/Pearl. Even if you like the former better than the latter, you'll still admit that they are both pretty much the same quality, seeing as not a whole lot has been changed.
you guys do know what a poltergeist is right?[QUOTE="MoldOnHold"]Ugh it was only a matter of time....Shinobishyguy
Y'know a ghost that possesses objects such as kitchen appliances...well thats what Rotom is.
It makes sense once you think about it like that. He is a ghost type after all.
Why does he have to possess kitchen appliances? :?[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]you guys do know what a poltergeist is right?[QUOTE="MoldOnHold"]Ugh it was only a matter of time....MoldOnHold

You make it sound like it's stupid. It's cool. In the world of Pokemon, you have all these crazy creatures that do their own little interest things. Imagine being in the Pokemon world and discussing the myth of "a Pokemon that possesses parts of your kitchen!" as a little kid. It's just a nice little tale.
They are sort of like animals with all the crazy stuff they do, except cooler.

Oh man...
Those days are over.
At the end of the fourth generation, there were 493 Pokemon. With these five new ones added, I guess there's 498 now. I can't wait for the fifth generation, because you just know it's going to be awesome.
NO MORE NEW POKEMON!!
there are enough already!
just release one with a new story line and such! geeeezzeee

I liked a few new ones but most were just useless, and like there are still hundreds that ive never even heard of that they introduced in previous games but just never used really, focus on all of them instead of just the new i say

Why think about things logically when you can bash a major franchise.

They seem to be doing both pretty well. Personally, I think that some of the fourth gen Pokemon were actually pretty good. They're being more imaginative, like the first gen, instead of just basing them off animals like the second and third gens.

Here's a list of my all time favorites (all also fairly powerful, so they are useful). It has Pokemon from every single gen, not just one.
Starmie (first gen)
Crowbat (Second Gen)
Raichu (First Gen)
Breloom (Third Gen)
Tentecruel (First Gen)
Rampardos (Fourth Gen)
Sure, you could argue that half of them are first gen, but on the other hand, it shows that they are all still quite imaginative. Just look at Rampardos. All his stats are sub-par, except for his attack which is one of the highest stats in the entire game. How does that not lend itself to strategic use. Trust me, they are not running out of imagination.
I think they really started running out of ideas for Pokemon as soon as the third generation started. You know, the whole robot-lookalikes and all.Verge_6
you mean like this guy?
Maybe this will be an indication to Nintendo that they can't just add new pokemon to make it a new pokemon game. Perhaps they will... change the gameplay! :oD00nut
Special Physical no longer split between the types, now the individual moves.
Ball opening animations customizable.
Any outdoor trainer re-challengable.
Not sure how many, but I know that the move-pool is now vastly larger.
Tweaked the berry-growth system.
Added new hold-items.
Added more than two opponents to double battles.
Re-instated timed events.
Changed the way the bike works.
Added the underground.
More legendaries and side-stories than ever before.
Elite 4 now actually hard. (And in platinum, you can rechallenge them about twenty levels higher.)
Trust me, there have been a lot of changes.

Except Magnamite, Voltorb, etc. were ****fied as electrics, and their ****was clearly meant to be robotic, unlike the robotic looking monstrosities that span every ****( ithink) and look like they came from a 'Little Timmy's dragon drawings' sketchbook.

Okay, Dialga and Palkia look a little static, but what else?

Such as? Give me some names, everyone says it, but no one backs it up. (Don't bother with pictures, I know them all.)
Then why should I post the names of the newer pokemon that I find robotic looking, when you either know what they are or don't think they are actually robotic looking?
[QUOTE="JIT93"]I also hate how they are putting too many legendaries with high stats, making it a noob fest in WFC

You realize that Mewtwo, the original legendary, still has some of the most broken stats in the game?
But it was the beginning of the game, it was either rushed out or never thought about. Nintendo/GameFreak now notices this and they are putting more "Mewtwos" there.[QUOTE="Tylendal"][QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Tylendal"]Okay, Dialga and Palkia look a little static, but what else?

Hey, I'm not some sort of computer, I can't just run them all past my minds eye one by one. :?I need some sort of prompt to jog my memory. In the meantime I'll be looking at a list of fourth gen, picking out the ones that I think look robotic.

Their are only two pokemon comparable to Mewtwo, and that is Deoxys and Arceus, both nearly impossible to obtain, one of which is truly broken stat-wise. The fact remains that Ubers of Mewtwos caliber are rare. There are a huge pile of legendaries that aren't even on the Uber list.

I'm talking about three AND four.

I'm not about to do it again for three, but I just scanned through pictures of every fourth gen pokemon, and I didn't see any particularly inorganic ones, barring of course Dialga and Palkia.
