Let me share my unpopular opinion with the Sheep now before disapointment sets in after the game is released.

I bought a Wii and launch, I picked up all the "hardcore" Nintendo titles they day they came out and there is a reality that I think every Sheep needs to understand, Games that are reviewed for the Wii based on seventh generation standards, which means that graphically its held up to 360 and PS3 games and as Reggie admited when it comes that that aspect Wii does not have the hardware to compete.

So Wii's advantage is its functionality and unique control system, that is its only advantage.

Sitting here and comparing SSB to Halo 3 is simply going to lead to more "GS is teh Bias" threads after the review comes out.

SSB needs to take full advantage of the Wii-Mote and the functionality that this control system offers in order to score an AAA, otherwise its simply another Zelda or Metroid that are nice looking games that are fun but graphically and gameplay wise do not stack up to the other consoles around this gen.

cosmostein77

Dude I donk you are looking at this correctly. First of all game reviewers are supposed to rate games based on what the hardware is cabable of, whther GS does this or not means nothing their credibility is shattered. SSBB has amazing framerates and great character models but yes it is really just tapping into what the Wii's graphical capabilities can do. the game looks great irregardless and graphics dont have much to do with how good it is except framerates.

Just because Wii has a steadily evolving control scheme known as motion sensing does not mean they cant use the old school gamepad. what is wrong with that? There are modes in SSBB that use motion sensing, but that doesnt mean we cant use the old style. Besides that even this is somewhat intuitive because you can use so many different pads. There is the horizontal Wiimote, Nunchuk/Wiimote, Classic Controller, GameCube controller and all of them are completely customizeable.

SSBB is a very underused series that works great. Its controls are amazing because you can make your own combos in mid air, its basically what all other fighters try to simulate and thats fluid spontaneous fighting. The game looks great and adds a whole bunch of new gameplay features. After saying that I dont see how you could be right.

Super Smash bros has:

Online Co-op

Online multiplayer

Saved films (for both brawls and the target minigame)

A lenghthy single player campaign with both a plot and bosses

Achievement-like system of trophies and stickers

Along with minigames and third party cameos, all it needs now is a stage creator like Halo's Forge (maybe some chainsaws too) and it will be guaranteed AAA.

How hard do you laugh when your yearly LIVE fee of $50 is due?

For something that is free, Smash online thus far (4 months from launch) is pretty impressive.

Low budget?

This is one fo Nintendos biggest titles, they are putting a lot of money into this. I wonder what you are going to say in defence of your statement after so many people quoted you and pretty much laughed it off.

I don't really want to be taking sides. I am looking forward to SSBB but from what you two said, I guess I can now see why you have to pay for an Xbox Live Gold account. SSBB is still going to be an amazing game, the only thing I miss is voice chat and that is it, stat boards are cool but I don't feel that they are a must have.

Do more research. Then come back.

Why would I do research for a game I don't care about?

Why would you post in a thread for a game you don't care about? Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me.

I think i will stick to Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, i dont like kiddy cartoonish games (the only thing Nintendo can make), i dont consider the Wii to be a console, its not even aimed at gamers, the "Hardcore gamers" who purchased it were fooled by Nintendo. I think GS knows and accepts that the Wii is trash which is why its best games flop here on SW.Ultra-Fatality

You are a guy with the specs of his PC in his sig. I assume you are a hermit. I thought hermits were intelligent, tolerant beings. You, good sir, depict the opposite, however. Thanks for enlightening me.

If the cinemas are that good, it's sure thing to have a pretty good plot.

Nuff said.

Since when do fighters have a decent plot? Just how do you expect a game that has over a dozen playable characters to pull off an engaging and engrossing plot? Expect a lackluster journey with an enjoyable cinimatic as reward for beating the game with X character.

I pity the fool who doesn't see the level of depth in the "help donkey kong get his bananas back" plot.

Take THAT Citizen Kane!

For a franchise that has never gained AAA status sheep sure has blown SSB way way out of proportion. Recently on X-Play Adam and Morgan were scratching their heads on how this nifty lil time waster ever gained such high critical status amongst its fanbase.

Its just a silly little fighting game. The way sheep talk about it you'd swear it was Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat status. Which its not.

Stop comparing SSB to Halo 3 , 2 games can't get more different. And no SSB will not score 9.5 or more , ain't nooo way, not on gamespot. You want to hype SSB go to another site , you will just get owned here when the game flops.

Are you seriously using X-play as a source in this thesis you have about SSBB... We are hyping brawl because it's has all the making of a great game it improves on everything from the 1st two and add even more features. You may think Brawl is a "silly little fighting game" but you fail to notice that people still play it on the wii's and GC today and it even has an MLG tournament (Like Street Fighter).

If all you have on the game is to call it a silly little fighting game that isn't in the status of two other fighting games that haven't seen decent sequels for almost a decade then you have no argument.

Meh. At least Xplay doesn't take itself as seriously as system wars does. Their scores are decent and never too far from the general concensus. THey love the Wii so you should really love that. And its just a show, theirs far worse on TV, and almost little to nothing on video games besides it.

If all you have on the game is to call it a silly little fighting game that isn't in the status of two other fighting games that haven't seen decent sequels for almost a decade then you have no argument.

iunderstand

Here comes the rabid mouth foaming fanbase to chew me to bits for criticizing their one and only fighting game.

 Again, he has nothing.

I have one thing. My opinion that Smash Bros. has the worst fanbase of any fighter. They somehow think anyone takes Smash Bros. seriously as a fighting game.

The best part is when anyone calls it a button masher some sheep puts a link to a vid and all I see are a bunch of tiny cartoons trying to kick each other off screen. lol.

Yeah. Thats just amazing stuff. Forget the actual technical briliance of Virtua Fighter. Lets just watch people hitting each other off screen over n over again. Oustanding.

But then again its all sheep have so they must cling to it like its the last buttered roll in the bakery.

It's even better when lemmings prance on about their Godlo 3 and they are oblivious to the fact that the controls on any PC FPS is superior. Because they obviously care.

You forgot to add the link to a vid so I can get a good laugh.

Oh and mention all those techniques that result in.."character slashes sword"..and "mario kicks in air". Those are the best.

And don't forge tthe one where you almost get kicked off but you jump back up.

I never knew SSBB has:

Forge:They just announced custom maps

File Share:They just announced that you can download other custom maps and send pictures to friends

In-dept stats online: Not that we know of no. Which is a bummer.

In-dept gametype editor: So your saying that Halo 3s forge is up there with the elite map editors?

Big, vehicle driven maps: Would you want that in a Super Smash Bros game?

Screenshots: Yeah...it does...

True skill matchmaking: True skill matchmaking...

Custom Games: Look up for answers

Voice chat: The only thing I'm really not ok with. This should have been in the game absolutely.

Do I need to go on?

II-FBIsniper-II

Hey, pal. This is exactly why I'am on System Wars. If you are going to bash something get your facts straight.

Heck with a buncha friends over yeah Smash Bros. is fun. The way a Michael Bay movie is fun. The way spongebob is amusing to watch.

But trying to pass it off as some technically brilliant fighter. Thats going over board.

It doesn't matter what the score is, you are talking about competing on a purely technical level. On a technical level Halo 3 isn't even in the same league as PC shooters, but should anyone care if the game is fun?

For a franchise that has never gained AAA status sheep sure has blown SSB way way out of proportion. Recently on X-Play Adam and Morgan were scratching their heads on how this nifty lil time waster ever gained such high critical status amongst its fanbase.

Its just a silly little fighting game. The way sheep talk about it you'd swear it was Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat status. Which its not.

I am not a fanboy and it is still one of my favorite games of all time. I still play it to this day. Now with the range content and featuresthat SSBB has, compared to SSBM is profound. SoI can't even imaginethe replayabilitybeing anything less than astounding. As long as it remains true to the series it will be a game to own for generations to come.
