It's perfectly ok to spend $130 on Halo 3 Legendary..but not $90 on GTA IV SE?

Wow...I've read a lot of complaints about this.  Even GameSpot's topic title said "Pricey bundle" at the beginning.  Why exactly is there a double standard?  Why is it perfectly fine to spend $130 for Halo 3 Legendary but not $90 on GTA IV SE?  Look at the package...

2. Soundtrack CD

3. Duffle bag

4. Artbook

5. Keychain

6. Lockbox?

For $30 more, you get all of this.  It is fine if you don't want those items, but don't call the package a "rip-off".  It is actually a good deal for $30 more.  Funny how I've never seen ONE SINGLE POST stating Halo 3 Legendary is a "rip-off".  Not one.   

Becuase Halo 2's LE was the owange with the extra features and DVD interview and etc. It was well worth my money. Besides, having a face of MC by my desk at the office...how cool is that.hoankiemdinh

The only people who care about how it was made are game designers. Howevre, they give so little away, that it makes it useless.

I think you are 1st person on system wars who has stated that Halo 3 Legendary is overpriced.  I guess people want the Master Chief helmet that much, that most people think $130 is reasonable.

Well actually the helmet looks pretty well done from what Ive seen and it holds your games on the inside so its got a purpose other than just being there.  Though like I said anyone arguing over the price of any special edition is stupid.  Its for fans and thats all, if you dont want to buy it then dont.

I don't plan on buying either of them. I mean, why spend $90 (or $130) on a game you can get for $60? That just seems silly, if you ask me.

There's definitely value in both packages, so I could understand why someone would do it, but that's more money than I'm willing to dedicate to a game.

Yes they would most likely as it is a bunch of useless crap. I am a gamer and love the stuff and content comming in the Halo 3 legendary edition. Every single thing in the GTA4 LE is completely useless. Also the soundtrack, is it in digital form? CD is being phased out. Plus it is just songs that you are going to hear over and over again while playing the game.

So, are you saying the helmet won't be cheap plastic?  Because it most likely will be.  And speaking of giving wrong details, I read in another thread from someone saying GTAIV SE is coming out for $90 with the duffle bag only.  People on this thread fail to mention the soundtrack CD that comes with GTAIV SE.  I think fanboy status was confirmed when lemmings were perfectly fine with $130 price tag.

you are absolutly right though Saying the GTA SE is over pirced is just stupid IMHO. You get alot more stuff and it's not over 100 thats a good SE since the games sells for 60 your not really paying that much more , compared to the 129 for the plastic helmet and some usless Making of vids. the Halo LE should be $90 to thats all i'm saying but MS knows the fans will pay for it so they tax them.

Not one pster agreed with me and i also thought it was funny how people bashing the GTA SE when it's coming with some stuff you can actually use , the Lockbox alone is pretty cool for hiding stuff you don't want you family messing with(like my ds , cause i don't want them damaging my screen) Overall i like the price of GTA more than Halos for what your getting and the extra DVD content doesn't mean much cause DVDs cost like$1 to manufacture

Articles on it have stated different. It also includes 4 dvd's. Including, not limited to, every cinematic from halo and halo 2 in HD and making of halo 3. That is just a highlight. Everything in this set I could see many, actually a majority of people buying seperatly. There is not a single item in the GTA4 LE I could see people buying seperatly. Exception being the soundtrack which I haveneverh eard them selling well at all anyway.

Nice try though. Value is what people are willing to pay for it. Lets use your logic. The Wii is a rip off. It sells for what, $50-$75 over what its value is. Didn't stop you from buying it did it?

THe Halo LE is actually $70, the Legendary edition though is $130. If it is so overpriced, why was every EB in the tampa area sold out on preorders within one single week. Like I said using your logic, you are getting a gamecube with a new controller. I can get a gamecube for $70. The Wii is making a $50-$75 profit on launch for its Wii. It is a complete ripoff sit it is majorly overpriced. You bought it? Why? Since it is so overpriced. It's your logic, shut up or put up fanboy

So a limited edition numbered collectors helmet which was officially said to be limited not like halo 2 LE where anyone could get one, which also sold of of preorders in the tampa area in less than a week is more usless then a 50 cent keychain that no one would touch if sold seperatly? makes sense 

I think anyone who spends $100+ on that Legendary pack is a tard.

But that GTA pack sounds decent.  I'd never buy anything like that, but I can see the attraction.

I think the only way the Legendary Halo 3 pack makes it worthwhile is if they include a soundtrack and the original 2 games REMASTERED.  As in, nextGen textures replacing the 480i stuff.

I've seen low quality duffle bags sell for $10 at walmart. That is selling price, not manufactured price... All of that is probably costing them $10 max

Really? I went to everyone in the area after it was announced and not a single one would take it. I definitley remember as my fiance wanted it for xmas, and was pretty pissed no one else would take them
