Its time that gears of war got what it deserves

And that would be a big fat F-. Now before you start typing about how "wrong" I' am and that I am a moron. Read what I'm saying.

Ok, it would be pointless to talk about single player because we all know that it was good and solid. Some say a little short, but that does not matter. My problem with the game, if you want to call it that, is the online part of it.

There's nothing like playing gears of war. Really there is not, unless you are thinking back when you played counter strike or anything for the matter on 56k, then you would be right on the money. 

The big problem with the game is that your bullets take about 1-2 seconds to hit the guy. This is not because of my connection, Its not because of your connection. It has something to do with server side hosting only, or something like that, maybe I got that wrong. Any way it does not mater. Because its EPICS fault any way you say it. Epic did this to counter cheaters. Even though people are cheating at the game anyway.

So because your bullets take so long to reach the other guy, its almost impossible to hit him with the lancer (aka assault rifle). So you have almost no way of hitting him if he is moving. So now that this mid range weapon has almost no uses other then standing behind a door and holding "B" so you can chainsaw someone. and then be called a noob and every other name in the book along with some new ones. So this makes the game more into close range shotgun battles. But, the shotgun lags as well, but its not as bad because you use it at close range.

Now this would not be so bad, if the shotgun worked. I don't know how many times I have heard someone getting mad over the mic about how he shot that guy 3 times at point blank, and nothing happened. But he himself got killed with one.

So now the whole game is all about rushing the other guys base using almost no brain power, just running, and running, and rolling, and then pulling then shooting the gun and hoping that your shot hits the guy.

The other problem with the game is that you can't play with your friends in ranked matches. So now we have a game that's about team work, but you cant play with your friends that actually do use strategy. So now you get to be matched up with random people! Yey!

Now I get to play with people that have no clue what there doing, they just quit when we start to lose, curse and yell into the mic. And I get to play with 9 to 11 year olds that are telling me how to play the game. This really could be worst game I have ever played online. Halo2 is filled with cheats. But at least when you can a legit game in there, you know you are going to have some fun. Unlike in this game, ware it is destroyed by the lag.

The game idea is cool, the way the game looks is cool, the guns are cool, but the lag and no party system just messed the game up.

Sounds pretty much like it's your problem.

I've never had any problem whatsoever hitting people with the lancer at almost any range (except, of course, so-far-away-you-can't-see-them range). I can't do anything with the shotty to save my life, but then again, I suck in SP with the shotty, too.

While it's true that there might be a small lag, you're exaggerating things. I routinely can hit people far away with the sniper rifle, even if they're moving. I don't need to run in like a chicken with my head cut off, and while I thoroughly enjoy sneaking up and chainsawing people, it's far from the only decent strategy.As for the ranked matchmaking,  Ican see why they did it like that. Do I enjoy it? No, not really. However, it's the "fairest" way to judge someone's true skill. If we should really give a hoot about our trueskill, that's the subject of another debate :D

I'm not gonna call you a fanboy or fakeboy, since you do seem to have quite a bit of experience with GeoW (100 ranked match executions is not something you do in your first round at a friend's house). 

Single player get's a C for really badly presented story and extreme shortness; the plus is online co-op.

Multiplayer get's a C as well, because while most of the stuff you said is true, it's far better than most (because most online multiplayer games are crap - even the ones people consider "great" like CoD3).

It's easy to get bored of it with the low number of people using mics, the quitters, the glitches, the extreme lag and host advantage you mentioned, and lack of party system.

Of course you will get flamed by the XBL users (aka idiots.. lol). I haven't met a single guy on Gears of War who is really cool.

Seriously, this guy has probably got through his 8th game in which lag affected him negatively, and needs to rant about it. Be it by incorrectly naming the games problems, so be it.

I realize there are more people with mics in player matches, but considering most people who play GeOW aren't worth talking to anyways (as 360 fans show even on these forums), it isn't a huge plus. And it still doesn't fix the lag issues. As far as being more competitive... I don't know.. it depends on the match.

totally agreed. Not that online players from other services are any better, but the XBL community on 360 games I've played so far sucks. Somehow everybody was so much more fun to play with in the Halo2 days (and no, I don't mind people just because they are younger than me - as long as they aren't saying n**ger the whole match and complaining).

And I only have one friend (my RL friend who has Live) who I'd really want to invite. The only guy I met on XBL who I wished I could see in RL stopped renewing XBL a couple years ago... I met him on Halo2.

1. Try not playing on servers with only one bar, that means that its a laggy server

2. You could always try  to aim in front of your target with the lancer and shoot.

3. the shotgun has random sprays, you can't just shoot it and hope the pellets go the same way every time.

4. People scream over the mics because they think they shot the person 3 times point blank, but in reality they suck.

5. Play on player matches, its not that hard.

And that would be a big fat F- ... single player ... was good and solid.

k, so it's not that bad, but there are too many glitches.

I've never had any problem with the lag whatsoever and I've been online gaming since Halo 2 and basically just on XBOX platforms except for when I tried WoW/Everquest or CS/RtCW and went through that Sims phase when I was 10, so I know a thing or two about a thing or two so anyone who has an opinion otherwise is crazy, their opinion is worthless because we all admit Gears has glitchers, a bad community, sloppy hit detection/is laggy (even if you can't tell through the usual stutters), and a 'slight' host advangtage on any given day.  Thousands of others teenagers (to include college freshmen) agree with me, so you are clearly wrong for having some standards in your on-line gaming sir :roll:
