maybe they're going to pull a tales of symphonia on us?
Tales of symphonia was launched exclusively on the gamecube, a few months later they decided to launch it for the PS2 with improvements like extra cutscenes, side quests, more monsters, more techs and additional costumes. We all waited for a stateside and a european release... which never came
What a stupid thing to say.[QUOTE="Squeets"]
Um... how does a review based on one man's opinion signify a flop?
DeathScape666
Ha, ha... XBox 360.
You forgot Blue Dragon.
Ah, I'm guessing you're one of those people who holds the opinions of gaming journalists over their own. Some of those games are flops according to SW standards. Outside of this place, the rules that govern whether or not a game is a flop do not apply.360 single-handedly destroyed the JRPG genre this gen. The devs who decided to make JRPG's exclusive to the 360 should be ashamed of themselves :(Swift_Boss_A
Well after thePS2the JRPGs are already dead. Thank you PS2
As Chris Rock would say "Fanboys they still make you". To the guy that said that the 360 destroyed jrpgs this gen if the games came out on the ps3 with no changes they would still get the same score. But wait oh noez what bout teh blu-ray and cell powah. Please the jrpgs that came out on ps3 barring enchanted arms were good to excellent but not because they were on ps3 its because they were great rpgs. Now where's my White Knight Chronicles

A game which does not meet the pre-determined hype on Gamespot is considered a flop. None of those games were officially hyped. How can anyone say Tales of Vesperia is a flop?[QUOTE="Squeets"]

[QUOTE="Andrew_Xavier"]Star Ocean was definitely not hyped A, AA at the least.Lost Odyssey got A, was hyped at A...not flop
Star Ocean got A was hyped at A...not flop
Tales Of Vesperia got AA, was hyped at A, great success
Enchanted Arms isn't exclusive :P
MasteRich
No sorry, it was hyped A, so you can't claim 'ownage'.
Ya know if you enjoy a Jrpg every single one of those games are fantastic. I played that whole list, and i thought they were enjoyable. Not perfect, but thats not to say you cant have a good time playing them. Star ocean is danm near perfect. Gotta get use to some funky dialogue but i think we can agree most jrpg's have some kinks there :)
They were all pretty good weren't they? Especially Tales...enterawesomeI dunno the voice acting in The Last Hope makes me want to stop playing...
[QUOTE="-CUBE-"]Well, thank god I have enough JRPGs on my PS3/Wii/PC...oh wait.warmaster670
Theres gotta be hundreds of free JRPG style RPGs on the pc, just find an rpgmaker fansite.
Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean > Fan made, zero budget MyFirst RPG Maker gamesDisgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, Final Fantasy Versus 13, Tales of Vesperia, Cross Edge. I'm probably forgetting a few, but they certainly exist.Where are the PS3's JRPGS this gen?
Oh wait! 360 stole them all :D (FF13, ToV)

Disgaea 3 and VC are SRPGs, Big difference (I am a huge fan of SRPGs, and that case is making the PS3 worth the money I paid for it). I don't think ToV PS3 will ever come out over here. So it would be like ToS on the PS2, which remained a Gamecube exclusive in the States. Cross Edge is good, but when the Gamespot review dropped it may not get over 5 :(
People hype based on scores... like A, AA, AAA, and possibly, AAAA Not meeting that constitutes a flop.Um... how does a review based on one man's opinion signify a flop?

Somehow I'm not surprised that you use your hands to count.
PS. Lost ODyssey was awesome.
Awesome! They would all be AAAA if they were on "teh Trey"Lost Odyssey got A, was hyped at A...not flop

Star Ocean was definitely not hyped A, AA at the least. No it wasn'tDoesn't make them bad games. I don't follow reviews so I don't care if they flop.
And Tales of Vesperia was hyped AA.
The only thing that bogged it down on the 360 was the framerate...which was kinda solved after installing the game. But yea, it was pretty good actually. The Last Remnant did well on PC at least. It wasn't a bad game at all.

And Star Ocean is not one of those games.
And Tales is up there? The ****?
Hell 2 great examples this gen are ratchet and clank and uncharted, both flops but both great games. That is why we have a class of games called underrated ;)Uh, Tales did not flop :| and quite frankly, I'd rather play flops than nothing at all. Flops can still be good, no games to play can't really be judged.

JRPGs just dont sell on the 360, didnt Cry On get cancelled because of the abysmal sales of Blue Dragon and Lost Odessey? Well anyway 360 doesnt have 1 noteworthy exclusive JRPG that was both criticallly and commercially a success.Swift_Boss_A
No thats far from it. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are the most successful JRPGs this gen. Blue Dragon has sold the most copies for any JRPG this gen in japan. Lost Odyssey has sold the most, i think its broke a million by now, not too sure. Cry On would have easily sold on the 360 so i doubt thats the reason its cancelled and everytime someone mentions that i
Wait im not entirely sure about Blue Dragon, i think White Knight Chronicles has outsold it now. Its still been very successful though.
