lol
lmao
He said awhile ago that Bioshock was so bad, and all this stuff about Rockstar making it... I bet hes never played any of these games in his life.
Ahh, Who cares. This guy is never ever going to be taken seriously again thanks to his opinions. Maybe he should try and stop the movie industry from making films like hostel before blaming video games for criminal activities.leejohnson7
or the war maybe? ive heard something about a war in some place...............it starts with an I
Will somebody just shoot this guy.nivet14
oh wouldn't that be the most ironic thing in the history of the world.

Jack Thompson, the whimsical and lovable old kook that enjoys discussing videogames has recently and proudly announced that he sent his own 15-year old son into a Best Buy so that he could purchase a copy of the M-rated BioShock. In using members of his family like this, Thompson claims to have proven that Manhunt 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV will be "widely sold to children of all ages" despite what the ESRB, Take-Two Interactive or the major retail chains have promised. Destructoid has sent Jack Thompson's medal through the mail.
Why is he not dead yet?

the dude seriously needs to get a life...i would expect he has more important things to be doing considering he's a lawyer and all
I'm going to go play GTA3, buy a gun using my awesome 17-year old skill, and shoot up a police station.
Video games made me do it -- I swear I'm not a ****ing retard who lets simulated violence control my mind.

That was the idea. :)
hehe you like that? that gif is one of my personal favorites
it was amazing when someone posted it with clips grazing over the mp3 review and then the 8.5! lol did u ever see it?
You guys get all mad, and yet he just proved his point BIG TIME. He is trying to inforce the rules that the ESRB, and Bib business have ALL agreed to. They said they wouldn't sell violent videogames to minors, and by making it personal (using his own son) he really just shows how much the industry is NOT doing. Yeah it's up to the parents, but if the ESRB and Wal-Mart are telling parents that there is no way their son/daughter could buy a M-rated game.... yet they still can...then obviously something isn't working..VideoGameGuy
The game companies and stores should be allowed to sell whatever the hell they want, to whoever the hell they want.
If Mr.Smith doesn't want little Jimmy playing Bioshock, then he should ****ing monitor him.
It is no ones responsibility but the parents.

This is a problem with modern politics in all areas. People look at life and go "hmm there are probelms here, here and here, it must be someones fault!" The politicians respond to these complaints with 'Nanny-state' policies and end up banning and controlling everything because "Nobody can be trusted" to carry out sensible judgement on anything. It's retarded.

So you'd befine with 10 year olds buying porn, cigarettes, and alchol? No. Parents CAN'T watch their kids 24/7... we expect society to "look" after them by not allowing them to do certain things, gimmie a break.[QUOTE="jethrovegas"]So you'd befine with 10 year olds buying porn, cigarettes, and alchol? If a guy like Jack Thompson sent his 15-year old son to see Superbad and he got in, would you feel he was making some kind of a strong point? Would that be a sign that society is doomed?
lol at yall wishing death on a person its his JOB guys and hes right little kids shouldnt be able to buy these games because they annoy me on x-box live lol.Jamani
It's not his job; it's his hobby.

nope. Either the ESRB shlould do more to enforce its own rules, or tell JT to screw off. It hasn't done much either way, until they do JT will be around to stir things up.[QUOTE="jethrovegas"][QUOTE="VideoGameGuy"]You guys get all mad, and yet he just proved his point BIG TIME. He'll most likely be assasinated within two years. He'll be remembered as a "hero" though in the mainstream media...... but when you go to gaming forums it'll be a massive celebration. Gamers are win.

It is pretty ironic how whenever a story like this comes out, you always get some "he should be shot" or "why can't he just die" type comments in gaming forums.
