Too bad Microsoft is going to suffer a bigger loss this week here than their small victory in japan last week.

I guess so many people and their moms bought one that everyone in Japan owns one or knows someone who does. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii dropped in price soon. Then you'll see those numbers soar again.

Don't count on that. I forget which game it was last time (I think it was ToV), but it caused a boost for the 360 for about 2 months.

With the PS3 outselling the 360 almost all the time in Japan, should the COWS make these threads everyweek? It seems when the 360 does this, it's the greatest thing ever, but we don't see these thread for Wii or PS3.

I think the Lemms should be a bit more humble, this isn't the finish line in Japan, lol.

It's very obvious this is due to Star Ocean 4, and the SO4 bundle. This isn't Xmas, so this may last a few weeks or so.

In any event, M$ buying all these JRPG's at the cost of 1st party studios seems to be working.

You can't compare the two. Star Ocean isn't as big as the Tales of series. And in the month after ToV released, Microsoft dropped the price of the 360, with Infinite Undiscovery following shortly thereafter.

erm ppl isn't this the only time 360 beat the competitors in japan? I think 360 fanboys should be a little humble. but yeah they should be close tobreaking the 1million sales now. hopefully we will see more jrpg's hitting the 360. not just squaresoft ones.Great_Ragnarok

Well it's the first time it's spanked the Wii before to my knowledge, but it has surpassed the PS3 in the past. Like I said before, it edged out the PS3 for like 8 weeks straight when Tales of Vesperia was released.
