Japan: Cloud ( FFVII) is the MOST popular FF character ever!!

When the Japanese Magazine Famitsu was released this week the main page was featuring Final Fantasy VII and most importantly talking about Cloud and his story, also noted that He's the most popular Character ever in Japan.. ( Wait why would they talk about Cloud and FFVII suddenly now?? could this be.. the most wanted game? ffvii remake anyone?) :P

Do you agree that Cloud is the best FF character so far??

Cloud's my favorite protagonist thus far in the Final Fantasy series thus far. Doesn't make him the best. But I think he becomes a character that's easy to relate to as the game progresses. He's pratically defined by his failures.

its not suprising, but that doesn't make cloud a good character. It just reafirms my belief of the uselessness of final fantasy after 6.

im ok with cloud. but seifer almasy from FF8 is much cooler. :)

My favourite have to be yuna ( FFX ).. i actually first started with FFX-2 and then learned about FFX later on and had to buy it because i wanted to know yuna's story lol

One thing that puzzles me here.. why talk about cloud suddenly now? and why ( from the scan) compare the diffrence as the PS1 version on the right and HD version on the Left.. im guessing their showing how the game will look if its remade.. so many things from that page alone :P

I myself find cloud a very decent character and his story that was shown on Advent Children was great.. Square even explained the Advent children movie on Blu-Ray version WAYY better than the DVD version.. i have both and when i watched the DVD version i was so lost that i had to watch it more than once while on Blu-Ray it just totally explained a lot of things... Cloud sure is a one Famous character.. seriously whenever someone mentions Final Fantasy im positive that 90% of people will think of either Cloud or Final Fantasy X

Compared to some other characters in the series Cloud is as interesting as a brick.

No one hates him but each person like a character tho cloud is indeed famous, cloud is cool but no one is better than Yuna :P

Hmm, I would have rather seen the slime from Dragon Quest get the nod. The little guy works so hard and yet, he never gets any credit.....

Seriously though, I would have thought that a character from Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy X would have gotten the top spot. Cloud is a suprise to be honest.

I'd have a hard time judging Cloud as a character because he doesn't seem to have any distinct personality. But I've heard it was translated out, so maybe I just need to play the Japanese ver ...

Anyways, I doubt that Cloud is a bigger character than Mario.

Most loners don't actually want to be a loner. Squall actually does. And all of his lines just come off as emo rather than as a loner. At least those were my first impressions and I guess they stuck :P SilverChimera
