[QUOTE="HarlockJC"]

[QUOTE="DireToad"]Why did you highlight the Nintendo games?

The Playstation brand clearly owned that poll.
DireToad

I took the list off of a Nintendo fan site

I see.

The list of best games ever played is pretty laughable if you ask me.

It varies for different regions probably. The handhelds are a beast there.

I bet the American list would be full of FPSs and sports games so we can't really talk about other regions really.

What an incrediblly non-diverse list of games. Congrats to Japan, but broaden your horizon. I'm appauled at how many great western games go unnoticed in Japan where most GREAT Japanese titles get praise and recognition here.

Maybe American developers need to challenge and broaden thier creativity a little more. Japanese taste in games are totally different then ours.

Think of it as a challenge I guess.

Why do you care if the Japanese people play western games? As long as you are able to play them there shouldn't be a problem. If they choose to skip out on good western games then it is there loss.

Yeah, games like Mass Effect and Bioshock are very dull I can see why western games don't succeed over there.

No need for a PS3 game ... the PS2 games do all the dirty work.

4 nintendo games and one x360 game @_@. I'm surprised it's even there the 360 game that is. jangojay

I'm surprised to see Lost Odyssey (XBox 360) up there as well considering only 100K gamers in Japan bought the game. I thought they would sell at least twice that many since the game is just like the old Final Fantasy games. Most of the games are RPG's anyway. Hopefully Infinite Undiscovery will do better in Japan.

That is quite a worrying list in terms of lack of genre diversity, helps explain why in some aspects Japanese game design is lagging behind. Japanese gamers aren't stuck in the past in terms of nostalgia but in terms of game design.

Many westerners are also a bunch of weirdos who only like playing JRPGS just like their sick minded counterparts in the East.

I can't think of any game from Japan I would want play without injecting arsenic into my arm first.
