[QUOTE="rexoverbey"][QUOTE="axt113"][QUOTE="rexoverbey"]Wii down 38% I guess Japan won't be carrying Wii much longer. At that rate it is only selling 200,000 a month. Considering the US sales were over double that last month. I have a feeling we will see Wii sales drop in the US NPD numbers also.rexoverbey

Wii is still sold out :|

Nintendo was holding back units to try to raise hype. Plus do you live in Japan? What proof is there that it is completely sold out. If Nintendo can't supply more than that a week then there is something wrong.

Wow go over to the neogaf forums and they will rip you apart.  The Wii is 100% sold out in Japan.  Due to shipment patterns the wii is on a cycle.  It rotates from around 50-60k to 70-80 k every week.

50k a week is lame nintendo needs to up production. They have to be proucing more than that. Plus it's pretty much proven that nintendo was holding back consoles trying to get hype. Wii fad is dying.

 at you thinking they are holding back consoles.  It's already been said that the gamestop CEO said that because he was begging for more consoles.  You cant exactly up production as fast as you would like.  Go take an economics clas s and maybe you would understand.

Another week where Wii tripled PS3's sales, which happens quite often. I can't imagine the difference between them when Brain Training and Super Paper Mario are released later this month.wiialltheway
And another week where Wii b****** slapped the 360 in sales, which is always. lol. Yeah when those 2 games come out, the Wii will probably make the 360 his ******.

Wii is still sold out :|

Nintendo needs to stop purposely cutting supply short in an attempt to keep demand up, release as many as you can now while people still want them and then release Super Mario Galaxy Christmas and you are set till Zelda in late 2008.

Nintendo isn't cutting supply, they've sold over six million in less than 5 months, that's not cutting supply, that's massive demand

They could easily produce 1 million wiis a week if they wanted too because the hardware is inexpensive and easily available.

..............I cannot believe you just said that.

Go do some research and come back with a better answer.  To "up" production you have to build more plants which cost up to 1 billion dollars.

Whatever, I own a wii, I am not trying to bash it, but I know Nintendo can produce more wiis if they wanted to...anyway it really does not matter, I just want Smash Bros.

Which is why people are still lining up  Face it the hype isn't dying, and Ninty isn't holding back

Lining up? Stores get 7 consoles at a time. Maybe you can post some people lining up recently. Plus like I said before it's a fad. There is a lot of one hit wonders out there that have sold millions of albums. Doesn't mean they weren't fads.

Prove its a fad, all I see is a console headed to victory

The only point im trying to make is you dont understand how "upping" the production works.  You have to BUILD ANOTHER PLANT which costs money...alot of money.  they make 1 million a week and saturate the market with 50 million Wiis what are they going to do with their 10 billion dollars worth of production plants.   Nintendo is trying to find a happy mediun in which they can produce Wiis.  Its not nearly as "easy" as you think it is.

 learn a little about production of a system before you say such things, a million systems a week is not possible

Wow, the Xbox 360 just murdered the Gamecube and sold over twice as many as the Game Boy Advance.  Take that 7 year old technology!

Xbox360 > Gamecube

Some say this day would never come, what are they to say now?

I was clearly making a point. I know these are JA figures. If yer gonna bash PS3 sales, then I'm going to bash 360 sales. Simple as that.
