Wii is almost back to outselling the PS3 4-1. PSP sales are up because of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 was released this week and was included in a PSP bundle. So I wouldn't expect them to stay that high for long.

Actually, in the region these sales figures are from, DS and PSP are very nearly the same price. Less than a $20 difference. So you've got your answer: PSP gets beat week after week.

Thats a huge jump for the PSP,it even outsold the Wii.Japan seems to be handheld crazy.
 I think it (the PSP) is doing considerably well given that almost every other handheld that went against nintendo has been slaughtered. The PSP hasn't won but it's pulling a Microsoft and getting in a foothold with the handheld business (just like the Xbox). It's not winning by any stretch but at least it's still going.
 Those crazy Japanese people. At this rate, I would be surprised if there's wasn't a DS for every japanese person there.

Yeah, the Gamecube beat the PS2 and Xbox in sales because it was the cheapest console. The DS is the same way; it's outselling the PSP because it's the cheapest.

Famitsu numbers are out thats what there based on if you dont believe VG charts. So if there wrong famitsu is wrong. There will be slight differences between famitsu and MC but its usually not that big.Â

Well good to see a game can breathe some life into it. I don't think this will do much though, like say... Pokemon did when it launched... and right now there's no big DS title like LoZ: PH out... but still good for the PSP. :) More competition equals more better games.
psp is an amazing handheld and it deserves the sales its getting. alot of ppl underrate the system because they are fanboys and b) lozers but the fact is for 200$ and all the stuff you can do on it psp is a steal. hopefully psp does well enough that Nintendo actually tries making better games and most of all better hardware

uh.. the only big game this year for Japan just came out and sold 750k in one week.. actually the numbers are quite dissapointing... when Pokemon launched DS sales were about 5 to 6 times of that number
