Why do people keep saying 3D TVs are an extra grand?

LED TV's came out last fall and they were more expesnive than this. Clearly it won't cost that much more by the end of this year.

i think the big difference between Motorstorm, Killzone and the other games is the constant depth of field

which is something modders have really done well with Crysis 1

Reggie Fils Aime (probably not spelled correctly lol) is going to be on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in a few minutes demoing the new Donkey Kong Country and I think the 3DS.

That's what I've been saying. People here who think 3D TVs cost too much are clearly unaware of the prices or are fanboys. $1500 is hardly a lot for new technology when you compare to what HDTVs cost. You can find HDTVs without 3D for that price.RogueShodown

Normal people already bought or are about to buy HDTVs, and they expect those HDTVs to last at least 10 years.

I actually want to play that in 3d. Looks fun.

falon is NOT a gamer, idk what u ppl are talking about. it was clear he didnt know what the hell he was doing and he knew nothing about KZLP4EVA2005

It was clear that he didn't know anything about KZ (At least I thought so), but I think he at least games some. Here's an article from Kotaku about meeting him. Also, tonight he had DKC Returns and the 3DS on along with Reggie Fils-Aime (funny thing is that he came on right before Eminem performed lol). I get the feeling he isn't a hardcore gamer, but he at least some things about games.

Also, in case anyone wants to know, he didn't seem as excited about Kid Icarus in 3D, but he did mention that he was looking forward to it because he liked Kid Icarus on the NES.

I don't. I'm on my 3rd TV in 4 years. Not because they broke but because I had a few TV's to replace. I'm planning on getting a 3D TV and selling my oldest LCD. like technology and its advances. I don't like missing out on big things like these.Zero_epyon

I said "Normal people". That doesn't mean you are below normal people or anything; you're just not an average consumer, but still... Average folks don't upgrade their TVs every year. Consumer's behavior in electronics and home appliances is just the way it is. People upgrade their cellphones once a year, but they expect their TVs to last a decade. It's just the way it is. The TV is not seen as they see a cellphone or even a video game console; it's more like the washing machine or the water heater.

The first part Jimmy looked pretty bored playing and was losing the crowd, then when he put on the 3D glasses and had to put on a show to get the crowd back some how and acted. That wasn't going crazy, that was acting hella fake.

3D needs to get rid of the glasses.

He said he loved Donkey for the N64, yet he doesn't seem to know how to even play this game(which could have to do with Wii controls, but I doubt it). He also brings up the DS and how it's his favorite console, which leads to Reggie talking about the 3DS. I can see how people who don't play games would think his reactions were genuine.

Sorry, but them showing it in 3-D dosent translate well on my computer screen. However, his reaction was funny.
