Journalist on Killzone 2: My God Let the Hype Engulf You

European journalists are beginning to receive their Killzone 2 preview copies and one journalist is already blown away.

An Italian journalist, otherwise known as TTP on gaming forum NeoGAF, has just received his copy of Killzone 2. The full game is in his hands and he couldn't wait to express his feelings on the game so far.

"My god. Preview code looks almost like pre-alpha compared to final.

"Every minor issue I had with the game has been addressed with chirurgical precision. Almost feels like a GG dev was hidden behind the sofa taking notes at every "mmh" of mine during my preview code run.

"And there are quite a few differences in how things unfold so it feels fresh despite having played this early stages to death."

I can confirm that Guerilla Games have paid particular attention to criticisms made in the gaming press, such as ground textures, up-close textures when taking cover and the artificial intelligence. Everything has been improved for the final build.

We hope to give you our own impressions in the near future, but you won't have to wait too long yourself for the pre-release demo, or even the full game itself. For now we'll leave you with TTP's words, "Let the hype engulf you."

I'm pretty excited for this game, but I have to agree with you, ogv.

I do hope this TTP is correct, though. If he truly has a copy, then this is good news.

I'm pretty excited for this game, but I have to agree with you, ogv.

I do hope this TTP is correct, though. If he truly has a copy, then this is good news.

if it turns out to be a good game, i will buy it... but at least give me some info from a real journalist with an actual name

I said it doesn't matter that he's a no-name journalist, it only matters that it's another positive opinion for Killzone 2 from someone who's played it, and there's very little negative feedback on the game so far.

im not hyping it AAAA but if it did get that wow would that be a kick in the nuts with an iron boot to anyone who thought it would be a flop because of the first oneriver_rat3117

I think a lot of people thought it was going to flop because the way sony falsely presented and hyped it some 2...3... years ago? Been so long I can't remember.

But hopefully this game rocks, need something to wash the Gears2 dissapointment away.

Actually yours doesn't. He called out for credibility, something that would give meaning and truth to the "journalist's" statements and claims.

That's what matters.

Sorry I did a typo, I meant to put very *little* negative feedback on the game so far.

OK its from some journalist no-one has heard of.But at least hes still played it ,and given very positive feedback.

So it definitely looks the part.And from what we've heard from various journalists and Beta-players,it plays well too.

My hype for this game grows daily.

I agree.

Can we all agree that this game will be excellent.
Even if the objectives are a little linear...What else can they say bad on it? Maybe they'll bash on it for fighting the same enemies during the entire game, but i really loved F.E.A.R. so that's no problem for me.

Ditto. I'm getting a few less hyped games, too, but KZ2 and RE5 are the ones I want the most these next few months. KZ2 is shaping up into a huge blockbuster of a game. I'm happy Guerrilla has finally crafted a great home console shooting experience.

heh. no. gamerankings just collects and posts all the reviews a certain game gets

that 100% score on gamerankings comes from an official playstation magazine review... not exactly the least biased of sources

SW just won't learn, will it? You guys do know that Sony (and virtually every other publisher) pay "journalists" to rant about how great their latest release is? You do realize that virtually every first review of a game is in the 9-10 range because of a) embargos and b) sources willing to trade their journalistic integrity for exclusive reviews? You guys remember Killzone 1 right? Lair? Fable 1? Brute Force?

I'm as excited as anyone else for Killzone 2 (I'm itching for a good PS3 FPS, and I refuse to buy either of the Resistance games after that abhorrent R2 commercial), but even SW should have the common sense to realize that nameless sources and early reviews are meaningless.

nah... it feels more like GeoW. Tons of hype but will prob end up 9-9.5... but if you cant get hyped over a AAA game then you prob just burnt out on gaming or FPS.
