Journalist writes a Nintendo Doomed article and gets destroyed by a Nintendo Enthusiast.

I've been hearing that Nintendo is doomed since the gamecube days... Yet they are still around, producing quality stuff, how weird :/

@SolidTy: no I won't be, I know their staple franchises to me Sony has been rather slower than they were during the ps3 era. Now I'm not gonna count remasters and collections, right now we can safely say they're still in the slow phase of the console cycle. There's been 1 R&C which is a semi reimagining, a killzone, not sure if there's been a gran turismo, the first ps4 GoW is still in the works, there's still more to list. Once some of these games release I'll consider ps4 to have finally begun 1st party wise.All the third parties are moving much faster is all I'm saying. I blame all the financial lost for this sluggish start having to fire loads of people, sell whole divisions and buildings to stem the bleed out

@Jag85: heh I like that, would you Sony are termites they eat at themselves a lot though if the vita is an indicator bet they might sell their handheld division at some point

@Celsius765: Yeah thats the sad thing, thanks to Sony abandoning Vita and its fans, that puts a bunch of developers out of work. Hopefully they find new homes were theyre better treated.

Considering how bad they supported the Wii U, how bad the 3DS is getting (1-2 decent games a year isn't gonna cut it anymore and not bring in new buyers). Then lets not forget how many of these nintendo fangirls are praising a system (switch) thats about to be released in a few months with barely any game support besides LoZ (which looks godly).

It's like the issues nintendo are facing just goes over the heads of nintendo fangirls.

With a reasonable price, a steady flow of system selling games, and boosted awareness from Nintendo's mobile games, the console (or whatever you want to call it) could sell really well. I can't wait to see what they have to show next week.

Btw this is coming from someone who looooooooves Nintendo and LoZ is in my top 5 fav franchises but with how the Wii U went, now the 3DS is losing steam and Nintendos stock has been **** the past 6 years (actually 8 but it's at it's highest since 2010), yes I'm concerned and I'm not gonna sit back and live in a bubble pretending nothing is wrong.

There is nothing to address. Its pessimism vs optimism. One game alone makes everything worth it. Thats how much i love Nintendo games. To me Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze made Wii U worth it, Kid Icarus: Uprising made 3DS worth it. And i can almost guarantee day 1 a Nintendo game will make Switch worth it.

If the Switch does as badly as the Wii-U then they might be in trouble considering they are combining the handheld and the home console together, I've never owned an Nintendo console so I can't comment on whether the fanbase is strong enough on it's own to push it, it didn't seem to for the Wii-U.

They really need good third party support this time, either that or invest more in first party.

The 3DS had quite a banner year last year. It is still supported very well. Just to share some examples of games released last year for the system:

Fire Emblem Fates, Pokemon Sun/Moon, Monster Hunter Generations, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocolypse, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Kirby Planet Robobot, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma, Bravely Second: End Layer, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, Dragon Quest VII, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros., Project X Zone 2...

And more. The 3DS was supported very well in 2016 with both multiplatforms and exclusive releases.

You would expect shareholders to be selling faster than they are if confidence was low. People who have a direct interest in Nintendo are the ones to look at, not casual commentators.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocolypse- a little over 600,000 copies sold

Rhythm Heaven Megamix- only sold 200,000 outside of JP (it sold over 700,000 in jp)

Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma- sold pretty poorly on the 3DS, although if it did well in sales it's cause it's on 3 platforms

Project X Zone 2- sold a little over 400,000 world wide

The 3DS received a wealth of exclusive games this year. Most of which that I have played, I thought were really great fun. The system was well supported this year.

If you personally didn't like the offerings on the system released this year, that's all you have to say, man but be sincere and honest about it.

P.S: SMT IV: Apocalypse selling that much is actually a surprise! I didn't think it would have sold so well considering it's a sequel to SMT IV.

Mario Kart 8 works fine. It's not perfect but I can play with friends and generally get zero lag. Smash Bros. on the other hand... I rarely ever get a match that runs smoothly.

@jumpaction: Yeah, Smash gets rough when playing online with like 4+ players at same time quite often. Which is understanding considering its a fighting game. Smash is only game with issues though. Others run pretty good. Good thing is its nowhere near as bad as when on Wii.

That's for Microsoft Corporation as a whole, with most of its value coming from Windows. The Xbox division, in comparison, is struggling and doing quite poorly compared to PlayStation and Nintendo.

Oh how times have changed... Pre-PS4 ... you would of been on the "Sony doesn't charge like Greedy Microsoft for online! and the online is just as good! and its features (even though it wasn't and still isnt)" ..

Bloodborne.... Uncharted.... Persona 5 what else is there? in year 4..... Christ.... last GREAT console-centric generation was PS2 ... if you own a PC your literally missing 5 games a generation ... 10 if your charitable with AAs.

Providing the Switch takes off with both DS and Wii-U esque games... at least that is a device I could justify using when:

1) I cba to sit at my desk, I'd rather play in bed or on the sofa ... like reading a book! portability wins.

2) Mrs has the TV .. and I want a console-type game.

My PS4? I turn it on every few months... realise the free games are s*it, and that 1-2 games worth even buying a year are often shallow graphics focused bore-chores.

Erm no. I've always suspected Sony would charge for online eventually. If makes my online experience better (and it did) I really don't care tbh. I never basher MS online fees I only had issues wuth ftp games behind a wall . I was 360 fan last gen untill 2011. I go where the games are at. I 'm not loyal to any company.

I'm not gonna sit here argue opinion. IIf you you think those are the only worth wild exclusives I really don't care tbh but I'll be enjoying a plenty exclusives like Gravity Rush 2, Ni-Oh, Horizon Zero Dawn, Yakazu series, Ratchet & Clank, Persona 5, etc etc.

Charging for online automatically makes it better? Hmm... I wonder if I start charging for water, will it magically taste better?
