Joystiq on Quantum Theory: Technically unsound, completely unappealing disaster

I must admit, the game looked subpar. Perhaps they will polish it up though. Only time will tell.

Agreed, but in my opinion the epitomy of the cover system was Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. It just worked so well...

PS3 fanboys need to owe SW an apology for hyping this game to be a GeoW killer.

Why can't Tecmo use Team Ninja for this game, why must they make it themselves, Team Ninja is the only thing that's going for them, this gen at least.

It indeed looks like a blatant rip off.

The guns and shooting look horrible IMO.

Though I wanted a Gears-like game on my PS3, I'll stick to my beloved Uncharted 2 for the TPS needs.

Yeah that game holds the crown of game clones, although this one is not far behind. The running animation and the action looks lifted straight from Gears of War.

The only part that I'm interested about the game is the AI character that you can use for melee attacks, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that they copied that idea from Prince of Persia

Bad controls and low framerate, and they chose to put it on the PS3 because it's the most powerful hardware.:lol:

3-D Dot Heroes, Quantum Theory, and TMNT Smash Up are all complete rip offs but 2D dot heroes might be good

God, Where do i begin??

Hmm, ok, first of all GeoW and Prince of Persia(2008) say hi. Now that the obvious is out of the way, the characters look like they've been snatched right out of a B action movie and probably will be as interesting as a twig, graphics are...inconsistent to say the least judging from what i've saw, and the environment looks as boring as hell (Actually hell proved to be very interesting in Dante's Inferno but you know what i mean).

Second, The story. Again judging from that trailer the story seems to make very little sense, i know i know but the game isn't even out yet, how could you even consider saying that? Well, when cliche' general number trillion said "Nobody knows when that tower was made and who made it. Some people say it just grew there by itself. Nothing ever came out, and nobody could ever get in. The tower was just there." then he mentions that they're planning and all-out attack on the thing to put an end to cliche' evil race number whogivesa**** because they are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the tower they know nothing about is probably the key to their salvation, I'm not expecting much from the game story wise.

Finally the trailer itself, the taglines (i.e "CIVILIZATION DESTROYED") look badly photoshopped and cheap.

Yeah i'm probably gonna pass on this one.

I like the living platform aspect but that would fit better in a game like Prince of Persia.
