This is why I'd never call myself a hardcore gamer. You get associated with clowns like this a gang of 14 year olds saying any non-M rated game is casual, any game that sells alot of copies is casual, and that sports games are casual despite having some of the most complex control setups and game systems in the industry. [QUOTE="McManus107"][QUOTE="NintendoBoy1996"]

Why do people consider some JRPGs as hardcore? Especially some MMOs.

There is absolutely nothing hardcore about a JRPG. Since when did time sinks become hardcore? I thought hardcore gaming was all about the challenge of the game, not grinding mindlessly for hours until your wizard gets another 40 levels.

You sound like you don't even understand how people here use the term "hardcore"

Actually, he sounds like he totally understands how the majority of people here use the word.

Lol, yeah, the Dragon Quest and Star Ocean games are REALLY casual

-Oath

TBH, Dragon Quest isn't really that hard. But maybe because I've become a JRPG nut myself. :P

But yeah TC, try playing Disgaea or Digital Devil Saga and then get back with me.

I found pretty much every FF after 6 to be quite easy..

FF's are not hard RPG's, You want a challenge?

Try legend of dragoon, xenogears , Breath of Fire Series, Wild Arms series and star ocean series is also abit tough at times.

As for SRPG's, front mission is alot harder than FFT.

Does it matter? They can still be insanely fun. Being casual isn't necesarrily a negative. Hell, it doesn't really hurt the genre at all if it is considered "casual."

A lot of JRPGs only let you grind mindlessly for the first part of the game. I'm guessing you quit a lot of JRPGs before they got challenging.

Try finishing Star Ocean or The Last Remnant, that is if you ever buy an xbox and stop playing all those hardcore games that are available for the wii.

With games like Animal Crossing and Carnival Games I'm sure you probably don't have time for much else.
