I personally liked Black Ops SP more. It's over the top just like MW2 but in a good and fun way. But then again that's my opinion :)

That's the reason why I like them (except for MW2) because it's easy to get into and you are able to get some kills as a noob. Cause me personally I don't play that many FPS'ers either SP or MP and I get destroyed in most so COD is the MP game for me to be able to have some fun :)

I think there are a few main reasons why the COD series hasn't evolved very much-

-They're still using the same basic game engine from Call of Duty 2. If you don't believe me, get the PC versions of COD2, Modern Warfare, WAW, MW2, and Black Ops. Install them. Look at the file folder structure and the file extensions for each game. Then start the game. Look at the graphics and effects. Yeah.. it's just spruced-up.

-The game has gotten so popular with console gamers that Activision knows they can have 2 different devs make the games, pumping out a game every year.. All the while they become more and more stale and generic with each release. They know fanboys will run out and pay $60 for a spruced-up version of the same game they've paid $60 for each of the last 3 years, so they keep making them.

-Treyarch sucks

COD is the ultimate cash cow franchise right now. It makes me sick.. It's been so cheapened. I loved Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2. I played Modern Warfare, and it was ok.. just ok. Nothing since then has really excited me at all. Big, fat, stale cash cow.

Call of Duty is a cash in franchise that comes from uninspired devs whose strings are pulled by a horrible publisher. If you expect more than trash, you would be disappointed. Black Ops is simply the newest installment in this seemingly never ending line of mediocrity.

I'm finding BO to be worse than MW2 control wise, the aiming is wacky. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. But the online is laggier than MW2. They may fix it, but when has a COD game been fixed this gen in regards to lag?

to get rid of the lag online go to settings in steam, then the ingane tab anddisable the steam community option. This will get rid of the lag until Treyarch patches it.

Now, it's a shell of a single player game that hasn't changed much over the years except its graphics with some new multiplayer modes that are suppose to be worth buying a whole new game.

maybe if there wasnt so much piracy or the PC was easier to devleop for then it would never have happened?

typical PC gamer, blaming for console for everything when its the developer make the games, and consoles simply didnt need another shooter or a PC port anyway

I have 8 console exlcusives that I would put above Black ops for 2010 so that just shows you how little impact this PC born title has on me

actually black ops is added a lot more than anything IW ever did :S its got a fairly deep customisation system which is way more robust than the IW one imo.Does away with some silly challenges aswell.

CoD aint really been dumbed down its gotten more advanced in a few terms :S

You're absolutely right but that doesn't mean Treyarch hasn't added new gamemodes which weren't there before.

I just absolutely hate when PC users say things like dumbing down for consoles, I have no idea what they mean by that, can someone explain, are PC users implying that console users are dumb, how can a game be dumbed down, does the PC version come without a manual

While I agree that CoD 1 was the best CoD, I also think that it was overpraised in the first place. CoD was just MoH:AA with iron sights and three different settings. Yeah, it was good, but nothing out of this world. It was quite short and didn't have the realism games like Operation Flashpoint provided. So I doubt the series would be much better if it stayed only on the PC.
