PS3 = $399
To get a Xbox360 to do the same (movies AND games) = $503(449 for Elite + 49 for HD drive + 5 for AA battieries)
Save yourself $104 and get the better system............PS3 baby!

too bad those extra things aren't required to play games, but i guess if you're a cow and have no AAAE you need all the non game things you can get.
but since we're comparing prices: add $60 for a HDMI cable, $40 for the sony headset, and $129 for a ps2 since the 40 gig has no backwards compatibility so that's $629.
[QUOTE="ThisCurse"]I like how you compared the cheapest PS3 SKU with the most expensive 360 SKU. Fanboy are we?PS3 = $399

THAT was my point, smart guy. You HAVE to get the Elite to get HDMI.
[QUOTE="vaderhater"]If it doesnt do 1080p than there is really no piont to getting a PS3 for blu-ray.f50p90:lol:Lolwut, that makes no sense

So? That doesn't mean new 360s don't have them. The Falcon my friend just bought certainly has one.[QUOTE="vaderhater"][QUOTE="f50p90"][QUOTE="vaderhater"]If it doesnt do 1080p than there is really no piont to getting a PS3 for blu-ray.f50p90:lol:Lolwut, that makes no sense

The HDMI cable doesn't have to be the high end cable your talking about, you can get a very good cable from places like Wal-Mart and Radio Shack for half that price (around $30.00 the last time I was looking at the prices) and around $5.00 from several places over the internet so there that little part is now null and void.
Hmm that's strange because you really don't have to use a Sony brand headset because most of the latest ones will work just fine another null and void statment.
You can get a 80 gig for less than the total of a 40 gig PS3 and PS2 another null and void statment.
Wow I just made your whole argument null and void.

your argument is somehow valid even though you put down things that aren't required at all for gaming?

no you don't... i got the arcade version and it has hdmi...
wow... unfortunatly this thread is filled with some aweful posts.... fanboyism at its worste... ie. elite + batteries + gas to go to the store and buy the console + Mcdonalds along the way = 1,268 dollars... crap...
The best part of the posts are clear however... if you want a video game console with amazing online- 360
If you want a bluray player- Ps3
If you have a new HDTV and want to get the most out of it go PS3.
Also PS3 just does more than games and movies, it's made for your HDTV. PS3 also lets you keep your videos, pictures and surf the web all in HD resolution and it all looks fantastic. You can even run Linux on your TV. I have everything on my PS3. I've ditched my CD changer and my DVD player. All I use is PS3 and my receiver.
Keep in mind there is no Blu-ray option planned for X360 at this time. A big MS screwup in my opinion.

1. PC's do that and you can stream them to your console, wether that be a PS3 or a 360.
2. Why the hell would you keep everything on your PS3 when all of that crap can be kept on your PC and streamed through your PS3?

Like I said X360 is a glorifed remote control. Also for a variety of reasons. Do I want to fire up my PC and console everytime I want to play my content? No.. Let's say I'm on a trip and I want to listen to my music or show someone my pictures I can remotely turn on my PS3 with my PSP and have access to all my content. We know that's not possible on X360 because Zune sucks, but if it was you still couldn't access any of your content unless your left your PC on before you left.
Also just speed.. going over the network is always going to be a lot slower than having it right there on the system.
It just makes sense for PS3 to do this kind've content. I never listened to my mp3s on my PC because of the little PC speakers, but PS3 is connected to my home audio system so now I listen to them almost everyday. Showing off your pictures to friends and family makes sense on my TV. Never happened on my PC. Those are some examples along with what I posted above previously.

You actually turn off your PC? WTF...
This isn't about the PSP > PS3 connectivity, but I understand your reasoning, even though it doesn't really make much sense. BTW, the Zune doesn't suck, it just lacks the appeal iPods have.
And again, you can do all of that by streaming it to your PS3. Any real PC enthusiast knows you don't turn your PC off.

We have 4 PC's in my house at about 350w-400w a piece you bet we turn them off, not to mention the heat those puppies pump out. A big deal when you live in a place like Phoenix Arizona where it's already hot as heck.

I agree with the heat thing, but its more efficient to keep your PC's on, to self task when they're not in use. Besides, you can keep your main PC on with all of that stuff on it instead of wasting your PS3 HDD space.
