Ok, this is in no way meant to bash the 360, i am giving my honest opinion as a owner of both consoles. The other day I made a thread which was praising xbox live and saying how they revolutinized gaming with Xbox live and how Xbox live was well worth it.. Well yesterday I got the chance to finally download home and spend some time with it and Quite honestly I was very very amazed.. What I was more amazed about is that this was all free! Honestly Home is a online gamer's dream come true.. Those times you just dont feel like playing a game you can just jump right into home, chat with people, pool is very fun, chess and bowling are very fun also and the community is great!

After having this experience with Home, I came to the conclusion that MS charging for Xbox live is complete non sense.. I know i know, I hate bashing the 360 also because it truely is a great system, but im just calling it how i see it..What bugs me is you have to pay for Xbox live just to simply play games online! While the PS3 lets you do that limitless for free and on top of that giving you this vast and virtual world like Home where you can play games like pool, Bowling and Chess online forever for free with no charge whatsoever! I know that MS lets you have cross game private chats and what not. 3 months ago if you where to ask me which is better between XBox live and PSN, I would have said Xbox live hands down destroys PSN.. Today with Home and the ability of in game XMB i would say they are about even with the PSN having the potential to surpass Live.

For those that dont have Home, dont listen to the very few that say things like "its pointless and a waste of time" before I had home I was bummed about it because i listened to those few people that said it was terrible, When I finally spent some time with it, i came to the conclusion that its a dream come true and you guys are in for a real real treat, i know the delays have been bad but trust me, when you guys get it in the next few weeks you are going to love it!!

Live won't be free while they are still making money on it. Oh, and I really don't see the use of Home for me, and I think I will take Heretrix's word on it over yours until I get to use it myself.

Like another user said above, all ive seen from Home so far, is The running man, or people just getting on other's nerves..its almost like everyone who playes the game has nothing to do, or a rampant pedophile.

Thats the beauty of home, I know on paper it sounds annoying about people chasing girls but home is just so vast you treat it like you would a chat room or just gamespot when someone trolls, simply ignore them.. Because Home is like a community, when you go to the mall you have teens chasing after girls and yelling at them and stuff, doesnt mean you stop going to the mall right?! just simply keep walking and ignore it, people make it seem like that EVERYONE just goes on there and chases girls and that is not the case, I ran into a lot of people between the ages of 18-25 and just played pool with them and had nice chat. Home is truely amazing and it is what its cracked up to be.

I tried Home and honestly concluded that it sucks. It really has nothing for me. Just my opinion though. I'd rather have high quality matchmaking than some psuedo social service with 60 people lobbies. If it were massive like an MMO, that would be different. As is, it's got nothing for me. Nothing at all.

Its not like that at all and as i said before.. Treat it like you would in real life, in real life when you go to the mall you have annoying kids chasing girls and yelling at them, what are you going to do say "The mall is stupid, im never going to the mall again" ofcourse not, you just simply ignore it and go about your way.. just like real life, truth is there are more cool people in home then those annoying kids. for ever 10 cool person i ran into, i ran into maybe 2 annoying kids chasing girls, dont listen to the propoganda people put out and say stuff like "Everyone just chases girls" that is completly false, sure some people do it but not many at all

Yeah.. I managed to play a couple games of pool and bowling.. then I went to the mall and it was all empty.. I danced.. and danced.. then I was like screw this, theres nothing to do.. the whole idea of jumping directly into a game is stupid, since you gotta get up and swap games and stuff anyway.. and if you just want to play with random people, you can find random people in the game already, if you want to play with friends, just tell your friends over MSN or something.. its really pointless.

That's not his point.. It would make sense in launching a Game WITHOUT the disk, have it install to your HDD or somthing like that, Its a pointless feature in the fact that you can just seamlessly join a game from home, you have to swap disks and such, TBH it's a stupid move on sony's part, because if they did it right (Launch games without disk/Install on HDD) it would have been so much better.

Well, as somebody who has spent extensive time with the app, I have to say that your half-right.  It has the potential to be something great if implemented correctly, but the beta, right now at this moment, is more or less a very limited borefest. Yeah, you can bowl, shoot pool, play PSN games at the arcade, or you can dance, and dance..................and dance. But Live needs to do nothing but continue to add on to what they've already started w/ NXE, as they both offer very different experiences.  This is where having both consoles becomes great, because you can enjoy both.

Not quite what I meant, to clarify, I mean, its not like games magically go into the tray, whether your on NXE or Home, so you might as well enter the game, and find people to play with there, instead of going to the trouble of entering home, hooking up with people, then jumping into a game, I mean, its an unneccesary middleman.

I got on home beta too and so far my experience has been pretty much the reported Dancing and Perving. If there is a female anywhere teens go straight into testosterone overdrive! Maybe i'm just a little old but i'd rather have the functionality and features of live over a glorified avatar chat room, although the mini games are pretty cool for killing 5 mins!

I know when I was 16 i was at the mall chasing girls and getting phone #s, so what?! people make it sound like its a bad thing for teens to chase girls, i say it shows they are normal

To each there own. I personally find home to be a waste. I was excited for it at first but then I got in the beta. Everything is slow....very slow, long load times for movies, changing areas etc. It is a SIMS/Second Life knock off. I will bet there will be some kind of charge for home in the future. I am hearing that you have to pay to get into clubs and such. Time will tell. Home is more a gimmick than anything else. If you enjoy this kind of stuff then more power to you. I am perfectly happy with the XMB for the game stuff....er when I use my PS3 for games that is.

When HOME was announced, this is exactly what I was thinking, I could decorate my room, get some friends over, watch some sort of clips on my TV, play some pool, then jump into some game, except, me and my friends are usually too busy all playing different games, most of our multiplayer is done locally, and all those ideas about "chilling" are just really pointless, if you want to play a game, just go play it, if you want to play pool, theres free online pool already, it just seems impractical overall.

To add to why its flawed, downloading every area is stupid, instead of reserving space, it should just download the basic areas and only make specific game space and such optional.

Ok home is a gimick but metro sexual, teeny bopper looking avatars on the 360 arent?! oh and ones you have to pay for might i add, give me a break.. you guys that only own a 360 have to keep in mind you lost the whole "home is a gimmick" argument ever since the NXE was announced because home is pretty much a 3d NXE, so dont give me that

[QUOTE="110million"][QUOTE="CODjon84"][QUOTE="110million"] Not quite what I meant, to clarify, I mean, its not like games magically go into the tray, whether your on NXE or Home, so you might as well enter the game, and find people to play with there, instead of going to the trouble of entering home, hooking up with people, then jumping into a game, I mean, its an unneccesary middleman.

its not unnecessary at all, if you have certain friends that you want to play with, meet up in home.. Play a game of pool and chill for a little bit then you can all hop into some resistance 2 or call of duty together, then when your done go right back to home and go bowling or something..

Dude its a free service, I applaud sony for wanting to take online networkign to a next generation.. if we left it up to MS to innovate online gaming, everything would be boring 2d enviroments, Home takes it a step further.. How can something be a "waste" if its completly free.. thats like someone giving me a crappy game for free and me saying "what a waste" it was free!!

don't really see the point of Home tbh...with a mall and movie theater and all that. I don't see myself using Home often. Same with "Life with Playstation"...nice free addition, but is it really needed?

I'm really looking forward to Home. Socializing (based around games) with family/friends and utilizing game affecting/related features is interesting. I know Home isn't what it will be, but it's a persistent environment destined to evolve. And knowing Sony's commitment (we seem to forget how much PSN has evolved over the past 2 years) things only look bright to me.

This game doesn't fit with my anti-social online persona. I probably won't use it after the first week or so.

exactly! I mean i dont get why all this hate from Home on here, its free.. I mean its almost like a pesonal vandetta some of these people have against it.. I think you will love it, like my friend moved to a different state so we dont see each other anymore.. But thanks to Home we can meet up anytime online, play some pool then jump into a game of resistance 2.. Possiblities are virtually endless

Not that I would ever pay for XBL, but I would rather have a good game I payed for then a free crappy game, since its still a waste if you spend your time with crap, its not a waste of money, but it is a waste of time.

It's a free service so my only complaint is that it's taking a long time.

[QUOTE="russdmoore"]To each there own. I personally find home to be a waste. I was excited for it at first but then I got in the beta. Everything is slow....very slow, long load times for movies, changing areas etc. It is a SIMS/Second Life knock off. I will better there will be some kind of change for home in the future. I am hearing that you have to pay to get into clubs and such. Time will tell. Home is more a gimmick than anything else. If you enjoy this kind of stuff then more power to you. I am perfectly happy with the XMB for the game stuff....er when I use my PS3 for games that is.CODjon84

Easy there buddy. Deep breath.... Where in my post did I say anything about NXE or the 360. I have a PS3 and I also own 360 and a High end PC. I did not step on your dog or kick your mother. I am giving my opinion on what I think of home. I personally see home as a gimmick. I am not saying that the 360 is better nor am I implying that in anyway. Will I use Home most like no. That is my choice. If it get better with improvements on load time and such, perhaps I will rethink my decision.

So I still feel that home is a gimmick and not much more than that. Some will enjoy it. Good! Some will not enjoy it. That is the choice they make.

As long as the final product is all what they iniatlly promised, I'm good.  If not, it'll be something I use very rarely, if ever.

I got Home yesterday and Wow, the house needed a good cleaning but what should I have expected since I demand the Maid work for free. :P

Seriously, you think because Sony launching Home at some point, who really knows when, that MS must now must offer XBL for free ?

Yeah! I moved away from home (GA) recently to Brooklyn. I used to live with my bro TREAL_Since (on these boards) and Home is an awesome opportunity for us to chill virtually :P. I'm looking forward to creating my avatar, apartment, playing pool/chess/checkers, and launching games with him. I really hope Sony finds a way for us to share movies (from the PS Store would be nice) because we watched movies together all the time :).

[QUOTE="Wats_o"]I got on home beta too and so far my experience has been pretty much the reported Dancing and Perving. If there is a female anywhere teens go straight into testosterone overdrive! Maybe i'm just a little old but i'd rather have the functionality and features of live over a glorified avatar chat room, although the mini games are pretty cool for killing 5 mins!CODjon84
Ignore them.. there are plenty of cool people in home to do things with, thats what i like about home.. and so what if teenangers chase girls, why is that a bad thing?! I know when I was 16 i was at the mall chasing girls and getting phone #s, so what?! people make it sound like its a bad thing for teens to chase girls, i say it shows they are normal

I don't game to be harrassed or to watch the doofy people you see at the mall do their thing. I game to game.

The minigames might be useful, but lets be honest, I could get fully functional versions of those games on a PC for the same cost of Home, while not having to deal with jerks.
