True, everybody is entitled to their opinion, yes. But some opinions are inherently more logical than others. Regardless of whether one agrees personally or not, the general collective opinion from professional reviewers and players alike points to several excellent games last generation, across all of the consoles.

And it is my personal opinion that there isn't really a WHOLE lot of difference between 'next-gen' and 'last-gen'. Prettier graphics, a few new multimedia bells and whistles, generally improved online, etc. However, except for a few cases, I've yet to see anything that blows the GAMEPLAY of 'last-gen' out of the water. But to be fair, it's really too early into this gen to see a profound difference.

Maybe my use of 'wrong' was a tad harsh, but if you ask me, dismissing the numerous excellent last-gen games as inferior in favour of newer stuff that isn't really all that different just seems rash and a tad foolish.

'Course, I still play all my old SNES and Genesis games, so I'm probably biased here :P

PS3-only gamers just don't realize how far the bar has risen since the x360's release. The PS3 still has a long way to go before it can touch what the x360 already has.

if 360 continues not to do well in JA and EU, then i see Wii being number, PS3 being number 2, and 360 being number o3. but if 360 all of sudden start doing well JA and EU then i see 360 being number 2 and ps3 being number 3. but for some reason i just do not see it doing well in those 2 countries. alfy13

Do you have info on the x360's EU sales?

While I don't fully agree with the original poster, at least his post is respectable.

People who say the PS3 is not doing well are just exaggerating. The PS3 is just not meeting expectations of critics sales wise and if Sony's blind PR statements are any indication, theirs either. That's not to say the PS3 is a flop, just that potential buyers are not willing to pay the price for the system yet, and I don't blame them. There just isn't enough good games to justify the price imo.

As or the 360, I believe it is doing well. Only a year and a half in its life cycle and it has almost surpassed the GCN in sales and at the end of this year no doubt pass the original xboxes as all the big name games are not even out yet. Furthermore, the 360 had an incredibly high attach rate, the last number that I have seen put it around 5. The last one that I have seen for the PS3 was less than 1 (or may have been less than 2).

For the record, I do believe the PS3 will sell the most units this generation. I believe the Wiis hype will begin to decline over time and slowly steady out, and the 360 selling around 20-25 million units. When the PS3's price is cut and more games come out, people will pick it up for brand name, the Blu-ray player, and the games, but I doubt the lead will be anywhere close to last generations. Maybe 35-40million units.

(Triple edit to point out that according to google, the current PS3 attach rate is 3.4, much higher then I mentioned. So that should bring software sales up to around 10million.)
