Just To Clear This Up PS3 Will Outsell 360 This Holiday

many people claim me quoting the people in my signature is ridiculous. well yes i do realize that ps3 has failed to outsell 360 every month this year except for march and august. when i say ps3 will outsell 360 i am speaking as in worldwide numbers. so i will say it again in worldwide numbers ps3 will sale more hardware this november and december combined then ms.-Renegade

Every month the PS3 has been outsold this including March and in August. So not once this year has the PS3 sold more than the 360 and even with its so called price cut in July.

That is an absolute FACT since that exact same situation happened yesterday at my local Walmart where a kid (young teen) had his father buy him a next gen console. Both the 360 and PS3 were there in stock and they both looked at the prices and what was offered. I was looking at PSP games and listened in on their convo. Both the parent and kid agreed the 360 was the better offer and Halo 3 sealed the deal once the kid saw it was in stock as well.I see this same scenario happening everywhere this holiday season except in Japan.

no i hardly post there at all.

I just don't see why the TC thinks the PS3 sales will suddenly surpass the 360 sales. Both will have a surge for the holidays, but the only region where the PS3 is currently beating the 360 doesn't have a holiday sales surge at the same time Europe and NA do.

I could be wrong about this, but Japan doesn't have a "Holiday" season like we do in November and December. I think they have a similar season but isn't it in January and February or something?

IF the 40gig lands in North America, and not just Europe, then it may actually cause a surge for PS3 sales. The difference between the PS3 40gig vs. the PS3 80gig is not nearly as "stripped down" as the differences between the Core and the other 360 models. It's only really missing non-essential parts. It's basically the original 20gig resurrected at a lower price. Had the 20gig still been around, it would have simply been price dropped to $400.

A $400 PS3 looks like a real contender next to a $350 360.

Still though, there is that whole Halo3 factor.

Now buy a 20-30 dollar 20 gig HD off Ebay and snap you just paid 300.00 for a premium and got the free games and the mem card to boot. ;)

The high-def format capabilitiesare not nearly as important to most people as people here in SWthink. People buy consoles for games, not for their movie playing abilities.

I doubt it will outsell anything this Holiday Season, the largest sales spikes the PlayStation 3 had were during the first launch in NA and Asia, then the second was when it launched in Europe, the last spike was with the "fake" price drop. I can see the $399 price tag helping, but I think most people wouldn't go for a gimped out model. This was it's first year on the market, and even a huge launch in the EU couldn't push the demand for the Xbox 360 away. A game system that is famous for not working is outselling "The most powerful and popular" system on the market.

The Xbox 360 on the other hand has had a horrible year with hardware problems and extended warrenties, but it still has managed to outsell the PlayStation 3 for most of the year. With sales of the PlayStation 3 at an all time low and the Xbox 360 riding off the successes of Halo 3, I honestly don't see the PlayStation 3 outselling the 360 this year.
