I just got 2x $500 in scholarship money in my name, i can do anything i want w/ it.

Should i buy a ps3 + wii or 360 or what ?

Buy two PS3s and stick em up on Ebay. You'll get a lot for it.

I'd wait until the good games start coming out... that goes for every console... if you buy a PS3 you'll find yourself playing PS2 games(not many PS3 games worth playing), if you buy a 360 you will just find yourself playing Gears of War none stop while all your other games collect dust.. and if you buy a wii you'll be totally disappointed all together...

xbox 360 and wii, ps3 has nothing good going for it at the moment that the xbox dosent already have...

also a ds (with wario ware!) or psp (metalgear PO)

360 + Wii with one or two games each if your impatient. It's probably better if you wait until October or November for some of the heavy hitters of the consoles to come though.

you said "also a DS". Even without it. It comes to $910 after tax. left with $90 to purchase games for. Don't even say wii sports... Wow was that horrible unless if you are completely bombed

That's tuition money, so it should definitely be put towards school use...unless your education somehow revolves around gaming. If I had to put it towards gaming, though, 1000 US$ could buy some nice PC parts. Your system should be recent enough to accept a GeForce 8800-series or HD Radeon 2900 XT card, and likely a Core 2 Duo as well. Those, 2 GB of DDR2-800 RAM, and a SoundBlaster X-Fi should get you set for a next-generation gaming experience. Still fixated on consoles, though? Regarding the Wii, I'd hold off on it until SSBB and BWii release, unless you absolutely must have your Zelda fix. The X360 is a cheaper way to get all of those PC games, though you lose out on mods, controller options, and perhaps some graphics effects. I'm not really sold on the PS3 yet gaming-wise, though it's cheap as a Blu-ray player and has great backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games.
