Why do you buy them if you don't play them?[QUOTE="PurpleMan5000"][QUOTE="StrongBlackVine"]
I will buy a 4 hour game, but not until it $20 or less. I don't generally play games so replay value is useless to me.
StrongBlackVine
Typo. That should have been I generally don't replay games.
It sort of depends on the game for me. If it's a game like Star Fox, where you can unlock new levels and content by obtaining high scores and finding hidden paths in missions, then I will replay those games several times over, especially if they are short. I don't replay most games, though, and I haven't seen anything to indicate that this game is one that I would replay, either. I hope it is a great game, but I'm not too optimistic.[QUOTE="StrongBlackVine"]

You constantly bash Wii U Get out of this threadI would say this about any full retail retail game regardless of platform. I didn't but Metal Gear Rising for the same reason.
The game looks pretty bad. I'm not really sure why people are hyping it so much.PurpleMan5000Because it's something new and Platinum games can make fantastic games. Anyway it doesn't bother me as long as it's an actual good game, Vanquish was only like 6 hours long but it was still super fun and replayable.
He is the creator of Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Devil May Cry, and Bayonetta.who is kamiya? if he makes game short, people may not buy for 60.

He was the System Planner for Resident Evil and the Director of Resident Evil 2.

A lot of the games I invested the most time in are relatively short games. As long as they're addictive enough to play and over and over again then I'm good.
Guess I'll have to wait and see on this one.

I think the opposite.
The art-style looks great to me and the game runs silky-smooth and looks sharp and "clean".
Very arcade-style, imo.
Totally agree, the game looks amazing. But that sucks that its gonna be short. For sure it will get low scores cause of that.[QUOTE="nameless12345"]

Depends how great it's replay value will be.
You can beat a game like Star Fox in an hour or two, but it's always worth replaying due to different paths, secrets, ect.
So the game's shortness may not be a huge problem if it has very good replay value.
GD1551
At best starfox only takes 3 playthroughs.. factor in its length and it doesn't actually have that much replay value. It was one of the more overrated nintendo games, especially on the 64. Game had no content really.
The game is almost completely on-rails and on-rails games tend to be tiny in size. Now really, I don't think small games are necessarily bad. Quality over quantity I say. Besides, smaller games tend to have huge amount of replay-ability, to the point where I still return years after finishing them. However, with long games I tend not to bother replaying them more then once if at all. If done really well, a short game lends itself to being more memorable.for him to make that statement , seems like the game is coming up woefully short in play tests from his play testers. 3 hour incoming game coming up?
All the people bashing crysis 3 for its shortness better get the pitchforks out else you are being a hypocrite

Uncharted games took me at least 12 hours to beat and I wasn't collecting trinkets.

Are system owners supposed to ignore a fault like short-game length
Pffrbt
Short game length isn't a fault. All of PlatinumGame's games have been just the right length with tons of replayability.
But it is a fault, or at least it can be. Many of us on System Wars have jobs or careers and can purchase whatever game they want, but what about those gamers who can only buy one game every so often? For them replayability may not be enough, especially if that replayability is just about pursuing high scores.

Well this is why most games tack on pointless multiplayer.I'd rather have a fun game, that I would want to replay over something that is padded just to make a game longer. Heil68
This so friggin' much!
I'm interested but won't be a Day 1 purchase (granted I probably won't even have a Wii-U by the time this game releases). Looks great though! Like Viewtiful Joe mixed with Pikmin.

Short length is not inherently bad. Look at a game like Bioshock Infinite people complain cause its only 8 hours or so and the pacing is awful
Well you guys go... your new IP. I figured everyone would love this game regardless because it is the new IP everyone keeps clamoring for.... regardless of length, gameplay, graphics, etc.
Now just hurry up and get this cr@p out of the way and get to those games every nintendo fan wants.
An amazing game, Viewtiful Joe, was 5 hours.MinishdrivebyI still have to finish it I'm on that Shark boss I can't beat him. I have been stuck on him for atleast 5 years but I only played off and on like once every 2 to 3 years.

You are just a slow player. There is 0 reason uncharted should have taken you 12 hours.
