Yawn. Sure they can release the game anytime they want because they know people want to play the game so bad that they will pay 40 bucks for a demo and defend it. They could release GT in wireframe mode only and people will call it the most realistic driving experience ever. It's getting really boring. They can release it anytime they want but they won't because they know that he competition is really strong now. Everybody has good looking racers now. You'd better bring more than that.

well hell, they're trying to take on the competition with GT5, that's why it's taking them so long. it's no excuse though, in fact it's becoming embarrassing that it takes them this long to get the game out. It's loaded with cotent, it looks pretty, ok. By the time this game comes out, at least TWO other forza's will have released. why didn't it take them this long to make ONE DAMN GAME? i really hope this game is good, in fact, it probably will be "top notch" "grade A" or whatever. It's a shame that playing catch up hurt them so bad.
It's also a shame that once GT5 comes out, not nearly as many people will care.
I have no doubt that GT 5 will be polished as hell, but it's like you said it's taking too long. Forza's car models may not look as nice, but it plays just as good and to some people, better than GT. It's got a ton of features AND it's fun to play while still being able to hold it's own as a sim.As for people not caring about GT5, I disagree. It's gonna sell like crazy.
yes, it will sell, a lot too if the other 4 are any indication, but i have a feel people aren't going to care as much this time around because the game has changed. The first three GT's were like gods. the little competition they had was easily tosted aside. It's different now. You have your Forza, and your burnout and PGR, midnight club, nascar games etc. Not all exactly being sims, but the same concept of sexy cars and pretty graphics. It's impact will be vastly smaller than any of its predescers. The competition is there now, and its vastly worthier than before. Like you said, forza was just as good, if not better than GT4, and forza 2-3 are improving that. Grand turismo has been out of the picture for too long, i think, and developers snatched the oppertunity to bring it down. I really can't say i think it will be the "be all-end all racer" like 1-3 were
but hey, im just speculating
